Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.
My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much.
(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)
Anybody in here who is enrolling for the February intake at Southern Cross University, Gold Coast?
And also, is there anybody in here who could give me some comments about the bridging course at Deakin University? Is it hard? Do they accept all applicants with complete requirements or do they refuse some applicants? I am worried because I am in a hurry to take to the bridging course this coming 2017 and their intake is on June, so it's a bit late already. So if they will not accept me, I don't know where to go anymore because I just want to study in a university (personal reasons) and 2017 will be my last year to enroll in a bridging course. And one more question, how about after doing the course, do they fail students? I just have few months of volunteer experience and that was year 2012 and honestly, I forgot heaps of nursing concepts and skills already.
I am just waiting for my AHPRA letter and I am choosing between Southern Cross University (but it's too long - 6 months) and Deakin University, since La Trobe University is not offering a bridging course anymore and Monash University will not accept me because I have less than a year hospital experience.
Thank you very much co-nurses!

Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Applying for registration
i will paste the important information here for you. (you don't need to do the "request for accreditation - program of study and education institution. you just need to do the Certificate of Good Standing from PRC)
The NMBA and AHPRA rely upon supporting documentation submitted with your application form to accurately assess your application for registration. Please ensure that all supporting documentation meets the AHPRA certification and translation guidelines.
The NMBA views fraud very seriously and will carefully review the evidence you provide to support your application. If you provide false or misleading documents with your application, the NMBA will refuse you registration because you are not a fit and proper person for general registration.
For us to assess your application and qualification, you need to provide ALL the following evidence. Your application and qualification cannot be assessed until all of this documentation has been received.
Please note that AHPRA may take into consideration multiple qualifications in assessing your application, as long as they are in or related to nursing and/or midwifery. We recommend that you provide the required supporting documentation for all relevant qualifications that you hold.
Supplied by you:
[*]Evidence of any change of name
[*]Proof of identity
[*]A Statement of Service from your employer(s) covering the past five years
[*]A signed and dated curriculum vitae that describes your full practice history and any training undertaken
[*]Proof that you meet the NMBA's English language skills registration standard:
[*]Fees for international applications:
If relevant:
Supplied directly to AHPRA from regulatory authorities:
Supplied directly to AHPRA from your education institution:
and of course, don't forget the AGOS-40 form :)
it's better if you try to fill in this form first so you will understand the requirements that they need.
and i think you already know that you need to pass IELTS/OET first before anything else.
Just the fact that I graduated from the Philippines ( which is not one of the recognised countries according to AHPRA's list) and English is not my primary language that I had to go through BP. I find it ridiculous at first but it wont hurt to have a 3 month refresher course and to have a better idea of Australia's health care system. The only thing is the tuition $$$$

been to Australia under 600 subclass visa for 3 months. consulted friends and advised to take ETEA rather than ACN. They said do not pressure yourself unless you opt for challenges, and, when the program will end you are all the same.
thank you! Had to go ACN since their immunisation checklist is not as meticulous as ETEA requiring only evidence of Polio vaccine and MRSA nasal swab. Unfortunately i wasnt able to keep my polio vaccine record so had to say bye bye to $150 application fee.
