Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hi. Does anyone here file for an income tax return and claimed fees paid for the bridging program? It is my first time to file for an ITR, however, it is still vague to me as to whether I should include it or not. Pls advise..

Hello. I am about to have an interview for ACFE IRON bridging progamme coming monday, but I really have no idea what are they going to ask? Can anyone please help me. Please please share what question should I anticipate? Will it be textbook or clinical related or just simple questions like getting to know myself and all dat.

Thnak you.

Have you considered Wimmera Health IRON? They have an intake in 19th October and the first part of theory is done in Melbourne CBD.

This program has 10 weeks of clinical placement which is a great help.

The one for Wimmera was a mixture of all.

Hi ncletara, did you try applying at sydney? I hear its cheaper

Hi Ceridwyn, and everyone else! I am also a USRN with a valid license. I graduated in the Philippines last year, and also received my USRN license on October 2014. I now live in Sydney, Australia and am currently on a working visa because of my partner. I have recently submitted an application to AHPRA to become an RN here, and I also have zero RN experience because I had difficulty landing a job in the states and decided to come here instead because the visa got approved. I am a US citizen, not a Filipino citizen; therefore, I am not eligible to take the PRC nursing board. That's the reason why I took the NCLEX straight away after graduation.

I had a friend who was approved for the bridging course despite not having any RN experience, but this was back in 2010.

It was asked on the application if I am a recent graduate, which I am (because of not being a graduate of more than 2 years). Does this mean that I am not required to have any experience in order to qualify for the briding course? I am awaiting their assessment for my case, and am really hoping to receive a letter of eligibility to bridge! 2 of my friends got theirs in a month's time of processing, but they graduated way earlier than me, and they both have RN experience. They're quite fast now with the assessments.

So bottom line, what is the significance of being a recent graduate nurse with a valid RN license for AHPRA?

Please help me with any information you guys could share. Thank you!

hello everyone..

anyone here lodging their bridging program in ETEA NSW campus? can u please guide me on how to apply? thanks a lot,,,

Hello! Anyone here has taken the IRON program in IHNA recently? How was it? I just want to have an idea. I am taking it this October. Thanks!

And can I just ask what are my chances of finding a job or find a sponsorship after the bridging program? I have a 3 years experience back in the Philippines in a mixed general ward, and a 5 years 7 months experience in Singapore in a Cardiothoracic Surgery ward. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! I'm a new member here and I hope you can help me. I don't have a school yet but hopefully a school accepting for the first quarter of 2016. I also already have the referral letter from AHPRA to do the bridging. I would just like to ask what is the best type of visa I should apply for the bridging program? hopefully a visa with a long duration of stay.

thank you.
