Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

When is your bp intake at LTU next year? Planning to enrol there...

Hi there! It's january of nxt yr.

thank you ceridwyn for the advice. I'm still wondering though..... why does legitimate or nationwide news media like GMA, ABS-CBN and bombo radyo have this article on their site... it made me think this article is real.

so you mean, i should apply to APHRA and ANMAC first, wait for their decision then apply for bridging course? what about the online learning thing? is it part of the bridging course as well?

I thought australia is in need of nurses. I also saw a list of in-demand jobs from the facebook page of the WorkAbroad saying that nursing jobs are the top 8 in-demand jobs in australia as of august, 2013.

you said there is no need for the AusAid or any of the other organizations to conduct a bridging program here in the philippines. if what i saw from the page of the WorkAbroad is true, then it would benefit the organizations as well as those who are unemployed because there will be many enrollees for that course that would fill those in-demand nursing jobs in australia. more enrollees mean more money to the organization. its a win-win situation.

can you please enlighten me with all of these? thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my post. i really appreciate it.

There is no shortage of nurses in Australia, only for those that have experience in the shortage areas such as theatre and anaethetics, icu, and sometimes ED.

For a course to lead to Registration it must be given approval, no approval shows on the list of bridging courses to be done in the Phils through Monash uni.. nada......so no approved course, no nursing REgistration.

I doubt very much that this is 'real' if so perhaps our nurses union would be extremely interested and Monash uni should be notified that their our own nursing graduate nurses cannot find work due to government cutbacks. If Monash university can afford 100,000 of dollars when recently claimed they are having massive money cutbacks as well, same as Aus Aid and are educating overseas nurses in their own country, then this should be made public and would be quite right in stating it is not a win win situation for unemployed nurses here nor people who want to be nurses but due to cutbacks uni places have dropped.

You will here much about nursing shortages in all countries, in the Phillipines includiing the US, UK, Canada, but there are not jobs available especially for overseas nurses.

But it suites consultancies over there to fleece money from desperate unemployed nurses.

and yes, Australian immigratation says nurses and doctors are in demand, they also report motor mechanics and panel beaters and fridge mechanics, painters, concreters, builders, solicitors, are in demand, yet they are a dime a dozen, and due to this their wages have gone down, and overseas doctors cannot find work, immigration does not keep up with what is in demand and what is not. Though at long last they are reviewing sponsorship visa's due to the locals not getting work in various jobs.

Okay, checked with Monash Uni and Aus Aid, the people I managed to, talk to know nothing about this, you had better check on your end of things.

AHPRA know nothing of this course.

Specializes in ICU.

Monash University isn't one of the accredited bridging course providers. You can verify from AHPRA's website.

Hi everyone! I'm new here. Anyone here knows how long it will take to receive the LOE from AHPRA? I have applied in AHPRA VIC last Mid July and I've received an email (with subject 'DO NOT REPLY') from them that they have assessed the reqts submitted and they are requesting a certof good standing last Aug. 1. I immediately requested a certificate of good standing from the PRC in the Philippines and it was sent last Aug. 2 and the courier told me that it'll be delivere 2-3 working days, and I tracked the shipment and it says that it was received on 5 Aug. and until now I am not yet receiving any email from them. Anyone here who lodged their application in AHPRA VIC? Thanks!

just patiently wait for it, the next email you'll receive will be the eligibility letter already.. it has no definite time, it all depends on your case officer whether how long he/she processes your application. :)
