Official Statement Regarding Passing of Brian Short, Founder of allnurses.com, September 12, 2015
We are deeply saddened by the unexpected death of Brian Short, founder of allnurses.com. We respectfully request that you grant the company's employees, friends, families and associates privacy during this difficult time. allnurses will continue to support nursing professionals by providing an unparalleled peer-to-peer online community where they can share experiences and learn from and support one another.
Please use this thread to post your comments of condolence and gratitude for Brian who created this wonderful nursing community that has benefited so many.
May the entire family rest in peace.
And to all the staff trying to track down missing messages, comments, etc.... go grieve, don't waste your time making sure people can see how many people "liked" their comment. Geez... you folks actually had a relationship with this man. You must still be in shock and stunned by this tragedy.

We're monitoring for disrespectful, inappropriate comments, as well as ones that flagrantly violate our site's terms of service. We are in a state of shock and grief, but we are also doing whatever we can to maintain a flame-free atmosphere.
This thread is for people to express their condolences and positive memories. Thank you for understanding and respecting the memories of five lives who departed entirely too soon.

Such an awful tragedy! There are no words -
I came to AN quite a few years ago and have always loved reading his postings -
Sending prayers for Brian's family, friends, and fellow AN mods as they go through this time. I am very thankful to u Brian, for building this wonderful nursing community to help us grow as nurses and share experiences with each other.
