Like so many, I found this site as a nursing student and have visited many times since then. I have gained new perspectives and knowledge from the posts shared by others. I am glad to know that the site will go n but so saddened to hear of the tragic loss of life. My sincere gratitude goes out to all of the employees who are literally working through their grief to continue this site. My thoughts and prayers are with you as well as with those most struck by this tragedy - friends and family.
I am sitting at my computer right now reading this....and I am sad. Very sad. I did not know Brian and his family but it hits home for some reason, he was a nurse, one of us. He created this site for a reason, so we can all meet and join together as nurses and students. I give my condolences to the extended family and friends and may Brian, his wife, and three beautiful children be at peace.. Such a tragedy.
I met Brian before AllNurses was even the name. He joined a group of us for the early Minnesota Informatics Nursing Group (MINING) meetings as we were forming the group. He was still working at Hennepin County, but had found his passion. I signed up to monitor a couple of the specialty groups early on, and have been a member since 1998. But like many of the others have posted, you connected with Brian once and he had your back forever. He supported my career and I his. I remember his joy when his first child was born.
I am shaken to my core. My grief for both Brian and his dear family is deep. My heartfelt prayers for all, his wife's family, his family, friends and all the lives he touched who are feeling this disbelief and sadness.
