Breast Reduction ???? To or not to ????

Published

I know some of you may think "hey what's her problem" sorry, but anyway I have large breasts DDD cup and get alot of spasms in my neck and upper back. I have been evaluated for a breast reduction and definately qualify. I really want to have it done. I'm so tired of always having to buy bigger sizes on the top and yada yada, anyone out there have a breast reduction and any comments on whether to or not to? Thanks!

A friend had this done and said it has made a world of difference to her. She researched it beforehand and found the satisfaction rate among people who have had it done is VERY high... Good luck...

I had it done in conjuction with some grafting. Grafting always hurts, but there was nothing to the breast reduction! I have very minimal scarring, not overly noticeable, really. Be advised though that you may have a decrease in sensation to the breast.

Good luck! I wish the best for you!

Thanks, y'all! My DH took me out to dinner tonight & then we laid in a supply of Sprite & veggie broth to get me through the first 24 post-op hours. Now, if I can just convince my brain to let me sleep!

I'll be back in a few days when I can remain conscious!

I had my reduction done on August 19th this year, and I could not be any happier. I too no longer HAVE to wear a bra. It has been the most wonderful liberating experience of my life. I had the surgery on a Thursday morning, was home by 3:00pm that day, was off pain meds by Saturday evening (yes, they were still uncomfortable but bearable), and was back at work on Tuesday the 24th with no problems. Very little drainage. Without hesitation or reservation I would have it done again and like another poster said, I wish I had done it sooner. I hated those disgusting, sagging, gigantic appendages hanging from my chest. Now they are gone and I feel NORMAL. I can actually buy regular bras from any store. My shirts fit, and I just feel good about myself.

My scars are healing nicely and should fade completely for the most part within a few more months. And, I simply must toot my own horn (and that of my surgeon's too I guess LOL), these babies look GREAT!!. Sorry if that was offensive, I'm just quiet pleased with the result.

JMO,

Dawn

P.S. I did my research and my surgeon is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Several people I spoke with said they had had this same surgery or other types of surgery performed by this doctor and were very happy. I will definately look to him for any future nips & tucks.

PSS Hope your surgery went well and your are recovering well. Enjoy your new bodacious ta ta's

Hi,

I had beast reduction surgery in May of 2002, and I have very few, if any, complaints. The surgery went well and the pain afterwards was not nearly as bad as I had expected. I also have a sister-in-law that had it done about three weeks ago and she is also loving it. Although there will be permanent scarring, it was definitely worth it overall for me. Good luck!

I did it 3 years ago and I'm glad I did. The recovery was not bad. It outpatient surgery for me, not hat I had a choice, they did all of them on an outpatient basis I was out form work for two weeks, and no strenous activity for awhile after that. It helped with the neck and shoulder pain.
