how to break in a newbie CI

Not in a bad way, she's just new and she set the bar super low. I'm used to much higher expectations, and I'm used to taking care of my patient(s), not just doing a few little things like changing the sheets and maybe passing meds at mid-term. I tried to tell her that we really can do much much much more than that, but she didn't seem real sure about it. Do I have to just wait until she feels comfortable with teaching? That could be all term!!!! I don't want to be rude at all, I understand that this is new for her, but at the same time we don't get a whole lot of experience and I need every day I'm there to really count. I'm also not sure about going over her head and addressing the concern? That might not turn out well.

I would approach her again about what you are able to do at your current level of schooling. If still no improvement, maybe going to whoever is in charge of the clinical instructors. I think it may be as simple as not knowing what you guys can and cannot do.
