Hi everyone,
I'm relocating from SF to NYC with my boyfriend, who is attending Columbia Architecture. We're living super close to campus in University Housing.
I graduated in 2014 with my BSN and work in public health. I would love to work at New York Presbyterian (NYP), and received a rejection from a recruiter for one of the two jobs I've applied to so far. I contacted her via LinkedIn to ask about other opportunities.
Since I'm a year + out of school, I can't go to their new grad events.
Any ideas of on how to break into NYP?
I'm strongly considering walking in with my resume once there in August.
Thanks!!!

It's not recommended to cold call in city hospitals with increased security. Most often you are redirected to apply online (quite often HR isn't even on site) Worst case scenario you are asked to leave and placed on the do not hire if you are insistent on cold calling on the unit.

Unfortunately nowadays everything is online. I'd recommend beefing up your resume and apply again online. It's true; cold calling and walking in will only get you turned away. You can also apply at NYP Cornell; it's not a bad commute from uptown on the express trains.
Back to beefing up your resume, there are websites out there that help get it noticed. Hospitals use computer systems now that look for buzzwords in the application. Read the position you are applying for and make sure words there are in your resume and application. The old school traditional resume format isn't really recommended anymore, so do some research: yours might need an update.
