Does anyone know anything about Boswell Hospital and Sun city??Thanks in advance.
It was Boswell hospital that was petitioning me for the USA, I met someone from the hospital and it sounded like a good set up with what appears good support for foreign nurses also with staff development. They also mentioned that they are currently expanding to 400 beds and have lots of vacancies.
Don't know a lot about sun city

They have a ton of openings. I worked there a couple times but it wasnt to fun. They are short handed, so the staff nurses are very short tempered. It was a nice place to work, just tons of overworked people. I live in Glendale, its nice, sun city borders it so its pretty similar.
Thanks guys for responding. Well appreciated.

Just saw this post. Didn't know if you needed any more info. I live in Glendale and go to school in Sun City at the Boswell School of Nursing. I work at Del Webb (part of the Sunhealth organization which includes Boswell Hospital) and have done clinicals at Boswell.
I personally am not impressed. It could be the association with the school but I see them short staff their floors, (although that is a nursing problem not just a hospital problem), not give appropriate raises (I work with a very talented and amazing LPN who has not gotten a raise in 5 years!) and I have yet to get help from recruiters. They are basically grooming us to be their RNs but I am transfering out because they are all talk and didn't help me at all when I was looking for a job while I am in school. SunCity is a retirement city so be prepared to deal with mainly geriatrics. Boswell has no peds or L&D because literally there was no need for it. Del Webb which is about 8 miles down the road does have an L&D and is expanding to have a peds unit. Del Webb is in Surprise which is a younger, growing city. The hospitals were recently voted top 100 places to work but I personally don't agree. I like my floor and the people I work with but I know that when it comes time to get my RN I will go somewhere else, and that was told to me by other nurses as well. The Banner Hospitals out here are good. I have not worked there but I have a friend who has worked at diff hospitals and she absolutely loves and is very very impressed with the Mesa Banner hospital.
Good luck!

Sunhealth was bought out by banner late last year.
It hasn't been bought out yet.
It isn't bad, but I didn't do well on the PBDS test and they are making a big deal about it (well my boss is).
Not all the staff is short tempered, but there are a few.
I did end up with 9 patients on Easter, but they called a nurse in, and that helped.
I won't be staying here forever as I am just dipping into Med-Surg, and would like to get into hospice. But, it isn't all bad.

I worked Boswell for 2 years. Day shift is tolerable for the most part depending on the unit you work, 5A and 5B were the best tele units. As far as the rest of the areas they seem tolerable as well. The staffing issues have become more prominent with the takeover possibility from Banner Health Care. You have to like geriatric patients as well, thats all that is there except for a random 40 year old, lol. The patient population is a nice one, very independent seniors. If you want more info let me know. I still live and work in the area. The Abbrazo facilities are horrible so stay clear of them if possible. jondare.

When I worked at Boswell, the med-surg units were usually under-staffed. The geriatric population also means a lot more work as I see it. (I love older people, but it was tough to manage with the short staffing.) --Boswell also routinely sends nurses and techs home, especially during the warm months (after they send folks home, new admits invariably arrive...). This is tough on folks that manage on tighter budgets.
