Boston Direct Entry Program - Calling All Applicants!

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hello everyone - I just wanted to create a thread for those of us applying to direct entry programs in the Boston area to talk. Has anyone heard from any schools yet? Although I did not apply to Regis early decision (I am applying by the regular deadline), I know that they have likely already notified people - congrats to those who got in! I called Boston College a few days ago, and they said they are notifying people late February. I'm also applying to MGH, Northeastern and Simmons.

Good luck to everyone! :nurse:

Just received an acceptance letter to the psych direct entry!

starfish13-- CONGRATS!!!:yeah:

I also got accepted for Community Health CNS!!! did you read on the email that we wont start the Community Health part till 2013? do you know if we just take a year off??

accepted to adult NP :)

CONGRATS monruss13!! I know...not sure what we'd do during that gap year. I'm guessing we would work as a nurse for a year if we pass the NCLEX?

congrats to everyone else also!

Congratulations to those who got into BC!!! Does anyone know when we should expect to hear from MGH?

Hi Jinn333, sorry to get back to you so late. Hope you you did well at the interview. My GRE scores were average, in the 1200s so there was nothing special. I think its just more my work and life experiences and the reasons for wanting to be a nurse that appealed to them. But I hope you did well. Please update me.

FYI, I just called MGH and they said they are "tentatively" mailing out (via regular mail) our decisions on Feb. 16th.

Hi mamu2011!

Thanks for the reply! :) Well next week I have the interview at UMass. I'm so excited! Umass is my top choice and I really hope to get in. What specialty track did you apply for? I'm going for the acute care.

Also, I was just wondering, after your interview, how long did it take for them to accept you?

Congrats to those who got into BC already, what a relief! Has anyone else heard today? Fingers crossed!

Jin, I received the call the same day :) They usually meet every two weeks I think but the day I did the interview was the day the admission committee was meeting so the decision was made the same day. They asked me about why I wanted to be a nurse, why should I be considered above the other candidates, etc. It was more like a job interview :) I'm going for FNP. Good luck my dear. and hopefully we will meet in June during the orientation. By the way have you ever been at the medical school? Its beautiful

Mamu2011,

Thanks for the insight! Yes, I agree UMass Medical School is a beautiful campus! Actually, Worcester is my hometown :) If you have any questions about the city, please free free to ask me.
