BON wants my adoption decree!

I have passed NCLEX and have started RN school.........why does the BON want my adoption decree from when I was a child? Has anyone else ever heard of this?

Congrats. Still involve your Senator and Congressman so they can set these people straight and never try to give someone else a hard time. They should also have to send you a written apology.

Just thought I would let you all know I received my license in the mail this past week!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is all taken care of now.......and hopefully I won't have to deal with this on my RN license too. Thanks to everyone for your encouragement, support and replies. It made me feel better having friends to vent to about it all.

I'm adopted, my birth cert. looks like everyones. My hubby was adopted at 2y/o and his also looks like everyones. How did they even find out you were adopted?? BTW, there was never a request made for my adoption decree, but I do have it in my safe.

congrats- BON's are idiots- when i was to get my license way back when, our BON denied mine and i called - they went on to tell me that i wuold not get my license because i was an alcoholic! i was fllabergasted - and i had NO idea where this woman was coming from- after arguing with her for half an hour - it cameout as she read to me ( from a ticket of drunk driving - of which was many many yrs earlier when i was young and stupid - and which i was very honest about and put on my application which i did not need to as back then tickets came off your record nooone would have been the wiser except me ) she said " you need to admit you are codependent and get treatment - alcoholics always deny they are and you are proving the record right now" i had to tell her - ok now i got it - please read the whole statements there - my records show i was codependent ON PEOPLE...... i hadnt touched a drink for yrs after i had that ticket. had my license within a week! seems they either want to know to much or dont look into stuff enough!! assumptions assumptions - can sure cause trouble lol.

well, i got my lpn license, now i am going to be in the process of trying to get my rn. do ya think i will have the same trouble?..........lol
