Anybody apply or go to Bon Secours School of Nursing? I just recently applied and i was wondering if anyone has gotten an acceptance letter? And i was wondering what the average Gpa and teas test results for the school is!!
I got mine yesterday too. The mailman even brought it to my door and said "This looks like something important, so I didn't want to bend it." Made me feel pretty darn special :redbeathe.
I need to call BS and figure out about the tuition total. I have added up BS credit hours and JSR credit hours and get $12-13000, (not counting books, uniforms, etc.) and even verified this with the school twice. I just can't figure out where the $20000 figure comes from that is listed, unless that is assuming room and board perhaps?
No Room & Board. It list Tuition/Fees at 17500. Did you add in the Fees that J sarg and BON Secours charges? You have to look at 315 per semester for 8 semester is 2520 just for the health, learning resouce & activity fee. We also have the Graduation of 235, Background checks every year ect. Then look at J sarges fees. So you can see how you can add up to the difference of 4500 real quick! Hope this helps. Did you guys start on the HealthStream Learing modules? You have to take test at the end of each one. Make sure you have a cup of coffee when you start!!!
They changed it from full day to half day because of the consistent poor feedback from students in the first orientation. Apparently, there was alot of reading of the pamphlet - so as it was explained to me. Therefore, tomorrow will be more cursory and overview, and we can read the details on our own. It makes me wonder, however, what has been done in previous years - is this year a 'new' orientation?
See you guys tomorrow!
FYI about the books. All the books we need for NUR100 totals up to $351.00 which includes shipping. The books were on the website on Friday when I checked but when I went back to place my order last night it showed no items available. I called the customer service # and just placed my order over the phone. She couldn't give me an explanation as to why they weren't showing up anymore. I think it was because one of the books that was listed on Friday showed up as being optional and not recommended but when I placed my order via phone, the customer service rep told me that all books were showing as recommended. Maybe they realized that the optional book was an error and decided that it needed to be corrected so nothing is showing up online right now. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, in case you go online to try and order your books but don't see any books listed. Just call the customer service #, I think they are open until 5pm today. Otherwise you will have to wait until Monday. And they send you an email confirmation after your order is placed.
Hey guys - I've got my loan all set up, with $ going directly to school, and no payments until after graduation - YAY! That's one big issue off my plate. I am hoping, as you guys probably are, to get a job after graduation in the BS system. I know that is no guarantee. However, IF I am so fortunate to get one, does anyone know exactly how the process works where BS pays part/all of the student loan with a commitment to work for 2-3 years? The school personnel are really tight-lipped about it, I guess so there is no appearance of guaranteed employment, however, EVERY nurse I have spoken with says, "If you work for BS, they will pay for your school loan." Yet I cannot get any details about this, and my husband is very antsy about what our potential debt will be with/without some sort of payback plan from an employer. Do you guys have any specifics, or know anyone who has received this sort of benefit?
