Bon Secours School of Nursing

I really dont know, but I was thinking about applying myself and I wanted to know the same thing. What is the average gpa that is being accepted for entry at Bon Secours. Well if you find out more info or get your acceptance letter please come back and post because I might apply too.

I let you know as soon as i find out! I'm taking the teas test on tuesday then going for my interview so we will see. I went to the information meeting and loved everything about the school. If you are looking into applying look at their website and if you can go to the information meeting you will see what i mean. I just know it is very competitive and i'm worried i won't get in. Do you know of any other good RN programs around.

I just took the teas at the end of February too, and got my interview out of the way that same week. We're supposed to hear back at the beginning of April. Part of the reason it's so competitive is that those applicants with college degrees have a better chance because of a recent grade history. I do not have a degree, so I am hoping my test results will help. There are 200+ applicants for 100 slots. Good luck to you! :up:

Oh I am so excited for you!!!! I am sure you will do fine and get your acceptance letter in the mail very soon. I heard John Tyler had a good nursing program. I think everywhere is competitive. I might apply at Riverside Regional Hospital they have rolling admission. I have been procrastinating on applying anywhere for fear that I wont get in. Okay well post back how it goes on tuesday!!!!!

I was fortunate to do very well on the teas. I scored in the 99th percentile. Blessed with a good memory 20 years past high school graduation, I guess.

The math ranged from simple ratios to algebra, to converting English to Metric, and a lot of it. The English portion tested alot of grammar and spelling correction, but no written essay, which surprised me but is probably easier for grading purposes. The science portion was a very diverse group of questions - just a few questions from every type of science - so if you are weak in any one area, it wouldn't hurt you as much. Logic and reasoning questions - alot of these - I call these the filter questions, like the tests that big box employers use to filter out those who are lacking somewhat in common sense (which is not always detected in a brief interview). I understand that there is a practice book that you can purchase. I think for practice of the math, this would be a good idea.

Part 2 - The interview

I was nervous, but the interviewer is quick to put you at ease and is very low key with the delivery of questions. Mostly -

why do you want to be a nurse? areas of interest?

academic strengths/weaknesses? any apprehensions?

She opened up for any questions that I had, and was very thorough and direct with her answers. It is genuinely much easier than a job interview, and not at all the 'grilling' I had feared. I think she is also assessing your demeanor just as much as the answers themselves. It was a good experience, and I hope you will find it the same. :up:
