Anybody apply or go to Bon Secours School of Nursing? I just recently applied and i was wondering if anyone has gotten an acceptance letter? And i was wondering what the average Gpa and teas test results for the school is!!
Nope - and I am REALLY needing it badly. I called Paula Rafferty and inquired on Thursday. She estimated end of September or early October. I have not been through this process before, but it seems rather late. I guess this means the school is not being paid either, so we're all hurting. I know of at least one evening student who cannot buy books on her own without those funds.
the school has been paid by most our lenders. i got a letter from suntrust saying that they gave the school my money on the 17th. i emailed crystal and got the following e-mail
right now around the 5th/6th week of the semester. it really depends upon the lenders. they had to move back loan disbursements. normally refunds occurred around the 4th/5th week of the semester. check with the bursar around the end of the 4th week for a more accurate timeframe.
i called bursar this morning and she said that checks should be going out the 2nd week in october!!!! i told her that the school already had my money and she said that it has to go through a process and get back to her and then she will mail the check! i told her that this is crazy we have over $1,000 out over the classes and books and supplies!! we have credit cards due and we were told the 3rd week of classes we would get our money, now we are looking at the 6th or 7th week. she told me to voice my concerns to the dean or sog. so that is where we are at in the process. i have never had a school take so long with loan money!
Hi,
Just wanted to ask all who started in Sept. how you liked Bon Secours so far. I've applied for the Jan 09 start. Still waiting on acceptance. If anyone would like to share their experience so far.....I would appreciate it. I'm still unsure if I will attend Bon...or my local CC....
Thanks in advance!!

Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone could give me some info on how the evening classes work. I was at Reynolds fulltime during the day and have taken most of the classes that I need from there. I had to go back to work fulltime so night school at BS is my only option. What time do the classes start and end? How many days per week? And how many credits do you have to take per semester? I am hoping that since I have done most everything except the nursing classes that it wont be such a heavy load. When is the clinicals for the evening? Thanks to anyone who can help.
Hi! I can only speak for this first semester's class for us first year newbies. We have lecture on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00, and skills lab on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 as well as every other Saturday from 7:00 to 1:00. These first four weeks' skills labs have been in the BS building in a simulated hospital room, but starting this Saturday will be in the hospital assigned with our instructor. Some go to MRMC, some go to St. Mary's. I do know that in the fall of the second semester, the evening classes/clinicals are Mon, Tues, Wed and Thur at approximately the same time, so you need to go in to this with eyes wide open if you have children's activities, etc. (My daughter made the school basketball team, and her games are on Tues/Thur, so I will not get to see any of her games this season. My husband tries to catch video clips on his blackberry for me.) However, I LOVE the class and the instructors are very knowledgeable.
There are no minimum credits required, unless you are referring to financial aid requirements. If you have completed alot of prereq's, then your load will be significantly lighter - some of the other posters on this thread have done the same thing and can speak to their scheduling options. I have only two classes that counted towards this program, so I am taking a full load - three classes this semester.
I am pleased with everything so far. Good luck!

First day was good. Moved slow. Make sure you take all your handouts. You don't need any books. Went over unit one. They are going to only ask 5 questions from that chapter so not a whole lot to learn. Let me know how your day goes.
