BOCES LPN Programs???

no there isnt any..i live in miami...but i was born and raised in Ossining New York...I did the LPN boces program back in 2001 had to drop out mid-program due to a high risk pregnancy...as far as BOCES i know the furthest one south i think is the one i use to attend in Yorktown campus..I would check out Bronx community College or other community colleges...some i have seen offer Part-time evening programs...if you dont have any kids u can pretty much wing it but if you do..hunny an LPN program can be rough..i finished a fulltime LPN program here in Miami this june and it was not easy...i have been in healthcare for about 5 years now (CNA for 1 year Phlebotomist for 3 and now LPN) and no nursing program is easy...but it is doable with determination...but check out the local LPN community college programs...Good Luck!...XOXO

I am in the same boat as you CMS. I am at the end of my prereqs and waiting to take the NET for an evening program in Mt. Vernon. When I first started taking classes, I changed my hours at work (8am -4pm) so that I could make it to a 5:30 or 6pm class on time. I work in Manhattan as well and live in the Bronx. I tried looking into evening classes anywhere in the tri-state area and there are not many. The closest ones to you are Queens Community College and Nassau Community. I have heard that QCC is way harder to get accepted to because they give preference to those who take their prereqs at QCC. NCC accepts students each Fall for their evening program, check the website for information sessions. Nassau Boces has an lpn program, but it is daytime only. You could call and check (I don't think they have a website). Hope this info helps with your search.

FYI, NYC Dept of Education offers a daytime LPN program thru their office of Adult Education. They do have an evening or weekend CNA program. Westchester BOCES is daytime LPN also.

Did u try western suffolk Boces in Northport, the program begins @ 630 mon-thursday, every other saturday 9-3:15pm. They have a day program and accelerated day program. Farmingdale also offers an LPN program, I 'm not sure of the schedule.

Actually this was a great piece of advice. I have a BA, so I need to take quite a few pre-reqs before I can even apply to nursing schools. So maybe QCC might be an option.

I just started the LPN program in suffolk a week ago..they also have one during the day full time...you will be done in 11 months if you want to go to the night one consider getting a job that lets you leave to the train early..I just quit my job (I am a CNA) and I started one at a hospital that lets me work 12 hour shifts fri sat and sundays because school is mon thru thursday..oh and i would get in the process of getting in now because its a LONG process to get in..you have to take the NET exam pass it than go on an interveiw and than if they pick you, you can get in..but its worth it!!! and I would do it!! good luck!!

Nassau BOCES hasnt offered the program for some years now. The BOCES in Central Islip in Suffolk County offers it.

I just got accepted into Southern Westchester BOCES in Elmsford, NY. Not sure if that's too far? They have an evening program as well, I'm not sure what time the classes start.

Hi, my name is ally. So I have been accepted to the nursing program at BOCES (western suffolk) for part time days. I had to go pick up my later because they sent it twice and I never received it. So as I am reading over it I see that it says I must pay $2000 by TODAY, the day I got my letter or I will loose my spot. Obviously this is not possible, and I have applied for funding as well. I am wondering if anyone else was not able to make their payment by the date requested and if so, what happens? I quit my job for this and have been applying for two years, I would be devastated to loose my spot. Any responses would be GREATLY appreciated.

I also called after I left and all the offices were closed for the weekend, I left a message making financial aid aware of my situation. Thanks again :)
