BOCES LPN Programs???

U.S.A. New York

Published

I'm looking at getting into nursing as a second career and right now it is not feasible for me to quit my full-time job to go back to school full time. I'm 35 and single and carrying a mortgage on my own, so I NEED to keep my job and all the health benefits.

Someone told me I should consider getting into an LPN program through BOCES.

I know Suffolk has an evening program, but it appears as though the classes begin at 6:30.

I work in Manahttan and live on the boarder of Eastern Nassau/Western Suffolk so on a good day, I'm not pulling into the train station until 6:50pm.

Are there any BOCES programs in Queens or NYC?

Hi, my name is ally. So I have been accepted to the nursing program at BOCES (western suffolk) for part time days. I had to go pick up my later because they sent it twice and I never received it. So as I am reading over it I see that it says I must pay $2000 by TODAY, the day I got my letter or I will loose my spot. Obviously this is not possible, and I have applied for funding as well. I am wondering if anyone else was not able to make their payment by the date requested and if so, what happens? I quit my job for this and have been applying for two years, I would be devastated to loose my spot. Any responses would be GREATLY appreciated.

I also called after I left and all the offices were closed for the weekend, I left a message making financial aid aware of my situation. Thanks again :)
