BMCC NURSING PROGRAM FALL 2021

Published

Good evening Everyone,

I have a question and it seems like everyone on this forum responds much quicker than the school does so please respond if you know the answer to this.

I plan on applying to BMCC’s nursing program in Fall 2021, I’ve completing my prerequisites (Eng 101, Mat 104, Psy100, Chem 121) and have gotten an A or A- in all my classes and accumulated a 3.9 GPA. I just completed Eng 201(which is not a prerequisite) Summer session with a C-. I’ve taken Speech 100 & I’m taking BIO 425 and Psy240 this fall.

Based on what I was told by The nursing dept, they only look at your grades for the 4 prereq’s (Eng 101, Mat 104, Psy100 & BIO425) but I’m wondering if I should retake my ENG 201 class for a better grade.

Please note I’m in the process of reaching out to my English 201 professor to dispute my C- grade.
And I’m considering transferring to other nursing schools since BMCC’s process is lengthy.
Please share your thoughts, Thank you!

Congrats! I am 5/5 at 9A. Is it just me or is the HESI being administered much earlier this year? Isn’t it normally given at the end of May?

Did anyone else get their test dates and times?

May 4th 9am. Time is flying by!

I am also May 4th at 9am. These exams are right around the corner!

Hi Everyone,

I am applying for Nursing in BMCC for Fall 2021. I sent my application back in January. Never got a response. Then I emailed for follow up because I heard some people got a test date the exam and I was told my application was not received. So I had to resubmit it. I sent it in over 2 weeks ago and now response yet. Can anyone tell me when did you receive test dates, how long the test is and if they told you what portions of the exam is required, where will it be administered or just any information at all about it ? I really appreciate any feedback. I am stressing out over here. I've been studying just in case but I nervous. MY PCI GPA is 3.75. Do you think that is high enough for enrollment ?

Hi good luck to everyone with your HESI .

I haven’t been on here in a while since I got admitted to the program. It’s been busy LOL

Study questions as much as you can math dude Khan Academy and Nurse Hub we’re all resources that I used. I know it’s difficult but try not analyze too much about your GPA etc. I had straight A’s for four of my five PCI courses but an AP1 I got a B -  and I still got in.

I know how stressful this can be for everybody!

Fingers crossed for you all

Hello, I also sent my application in January, and did not receive a response. I followed back up in March, and was told that my NPAC was never received. I re-submitted it, and was notified in early April that I qualified to take the HESI2. My GPA is 3.85. The topics included on the test are Math, Reading, Grammar, Vocabulary, and A&P. I believe there are 4 hours given to complete the exam. This year the tests are being administered in early May. I hope this helps a bit - maybe follow back up about your resubmitted application to you know exactly what's going on. Good luck and don't give up!!

Thank you for your responses. I finally heard back from Nursing advisor. I am taking the HESI 5/4 2PM. I submitted my application and paid for the test.

Does anyone know when we find out if we get accepted or not ?

Best of luck to you all.

Hi! I was just wondering where you got the info for what bmcc is testing on...the HESI at BMCC does not typically include grammar or vocabulary. The topics BMCC tests for are A&P, math, critical thinking, and reading comprehension, at least according to the department.

Yes, I was told it was reading, math, A&P and CT as well.

I stand corrected. You are correct, the subjects are critical thinking, reading comprehension, math, and A&P.

What is everyone using to prepare for the critical thinking portion?

I looked at the Spring 2021 group and it looks like it takes a month to find out if you're accepted or not. Will be the longest month ever ?
