hi

has anyone had a blood test lately- I had one several weeks ago and it came back positive

I had had some wine at a friends funeral and the MRO said that the new test they have

can detect alcohol 14 days prior to the test

something about the proteins etc

so just fyi --don't even think about alcohol while under contract

thanks

Ya think? When one is under a contract they are to remain absence from all mind altering chemicals.

Why would you think you could drink wine while under a contract?

What kind of contract? If she is not on the job, then why should it matter? Sorry, I am confused by this.

What state are you in I don't think they do blood in Texas just urine.

@ JuneBug: please note you are in the Nurses/Recovery forum, which might lead to your confusion......js.....perhaps you should peruse somewhere else? (& i know i prob just stirred up a hornet's nest!!)

No nest! I do think this is a great topic for discussion though TXRN, I'm going to start a thread

14 days is a long time... I don't see any tests that directly indicate alcohol use, they only correlate biomarkers with he possibility of alcohol use (and usually heavy alcohol use). I see a lot of posts that ignore science and spread misinformation (I ate something with vanilla extract and came up positive- not likely)... I wonder what the real story is when I read something that does not add up.

I don't agree with the terms of the program being effective (i.e. no mood altering substances... except for x,y,z); but they are the terms we signed up for. At first it seemed like an unreasonable restriction, a couple of years into the program it is a test of will for me. I will admit I look forward to being able to say yes to a drink at a social occasion.

Oh, yes! Thank you! I don't usually look at the thread category. I read the most recent threads on the side of the screen. My apologies! :)
