  1. You have to have 1 year working for your monitoring to end if you got a 3 year contract they are telling you get a job they will extend your contract until you work a full year as a nurse
  2. TXRNC replied to Ash2213's topic in Nurses Recovery
I took it without any problems but just to be safe I listed it on my self report along with Advil and Tylenol if I had needed to take it just to cover my bases
  3. Take a breath just read your contract and follow it to the letter once you sign there is a time frame which you have to set up with Recovery Trek. I always did the be safe not sorry rule bought my own hand sanitizer changed mouth wash etc. as for travel there is a form for travel request do everything online there is a way on Recovery Trek to email your CM monthly reports much better than phone tag and you have a paper trail do not miss a call in or a paperwork deadline I didn't know will not fly as for OTC meds you can print off a Tabor's handbook it tells you what you can and can not take. Just do one day at a time and you will make it

In Texas it states that if you are in a alternative program i.e. TPAPN you can answer no
  5. If it's a nursing job you could be found not in compliance with the program. They are very big on follow the rules. But take heart go to the eval start whatever treatment they recommend if it's outpatient treatment you can ask for a release to return to work within a couple weeks as long is everything is good Texas does not have a long period of time off once in treatment they can release you to work not like some states that have mandatory 12-18 months you can't work.

Everyone feels this way at some point it is almost like the stages of grief,
  7. The best attitude is keep copies of everything thing, do all paperwork early or on time , I didn't know is not ever going to be the right answer. That being said keep your head down and do the work and you will survive ,if your in the right say so but you will say many times This Is Soooo Unfair but guess what life is not fair. If you use the online forms on Recovery Trek that will be your paper trail I even sent messages about any phone calls confirming content of conversation through there so they could be referenced at a click of a mouse I am old school and this did not come second nature to me but it saved my butt more than once. You can sent messages 24-7 instead of playing phone tag and it time stamps it to support you in I contacted program as soon as I could this comes in handy if you have say a medical emergency or job offer/issues ,no I waited till Monday or after holiday to contact anyone, also if one CM says one thing and another says something else it will come down to did you get that in writing because we all know if it's not charted it did not happen. You have no say in who is your case manager just like you had no choice who was you teacher in nursing school work with what you got they are not lifelong friends their purpose is to see you follow the rules , keep you on course and yes fearful enough to keep on track until it becomes like breathing. They are not going to help you find a job either just approve or not approve a job you fined, your Advocate might have some pearls of wisdom about jobs maybe not Good Luck and if you fall down get back up
  8. If you had to do any mandatory stuff classes, rehab ect to get out of it Texas still requires monitoring even with a expunged charge you are required to report and they investigate good luck.
  9. You will have to set up an account with the testing company provide payment information and such after that you are fair game from day 1. It was Recovery Chek when I was in the program
  10. Only ones on list are Allegra and Claratin not the ones you sign for just plain OTC kind and yes they test for Sufafed because it is used to make other street drugs and my old case manager said no go even with Rx
  11. Apply everywhere even places you would have never imagined, I finally got hired at a LTC that was know as desperate. That where I have worked for 2 1/2 years it is what you make it
  12. TXRNC replied to GreenFeather's topic in Nurses Recovery
    They use Labcorp in Texas
  13. I am on the data base and yes you can work , the only problem if you where lucky enough to have nothing on your license after completing you contract you would still have all of it on the Date base FOREVER!
  14. I took Advil and Prilosec daily without any problems for my entire contract
  15. My first vacation request they denied because it would have been 2+hour drive but that was early in my contract toward the end I went on a cruise and my CM said I had enough good time they suspended my test for that week so I can change
