  1. I am looking into an RN to BSN program. Looking into some programs that are regionally accredited but not nationally (galen) but I want if I ever moved somewhere outside of the area where that school is accreditated if employers wouldn't accept take my BSN. I know where I live now in Texas no one really cares where your degree is from but I'm wondering if I ever moved to California or Massachusetts if it would matter if it's not part of the region galen is accreditated.
  2. I'm not. Like i said i really don't expect it to go my way.
  3. I know the odds. But I'd like to try if it's even slightly plausible. I got a couple of my restrictions lifted from the get go and never thought that would happen.this may be very different but if there's a chance and it doesn't risk there be issues then the worst they could say is no.
  4. here's a fun one: on saturday i checked in and then saw the "not selected" screen. carried my phone and some other things to the couch and oops i hit the activate test and confirm. call affinity who of course said i was expected to follow through unless i talked to my case manager who, you guessed it, doesn't work saturday. that freakin drug tested ended up costing $93 (for some reason). i miss recovery trek.... i would have never accidentally self tested on recovery trek. my case manager later told me if it happens again tell her and she will excuse it but really sucks that there was no way of knowing that then and they couldn't reset it. most expensive button i've ever pushed.
  5. hello, i started tpapn back in march and was hoping to only be on it for 1 year but turns out that i will have to be on it for 3 years unless i can get an exception from the board. i was wondering if anyone has ever actually attempted this??? and if so how did it go and what was the process? i have over 6 years of sobriety so i feel like i can make a good case for myself but i also feel like it's most likely not to go through just because well...it's the board and tpapn and frankly they don't give a ****.

Has anyone in tpapn ever gotten dental work done? And if so was there any issues? I need fillings and oral surgery soon and i have been reading lidocaine can cause falsr positives and i am concerned about them using ethanol products on me. I have asked my case manger when i might except to be done with tpapn to try to avoid this issue but she didn't answer (as usual) and im not sure how much longer i can hold off before i get serious dental issues.

i use to take pre workout all the time before starting tpapn but stopped because i am paranoid about false positives. does anyone know if any of the ingredients in pre workout such as beta alanine can cause false positives? I'm assuming anything ending in -ephedrine and extract is off limits
  8. I am in north Austin. I read the medication guide and got some answers but a lot of it was based just off the brand.. it seem like most all lotion and hair conditioners, many soaps, and chewing gum have some form of alcohol in it..do I really have to go buy all knew stuff
  9. Also gum...i've noticed gum has sugar alcohol...can i chew gum on tpapn?
  10. Hello, I have just started the process of enrolling in TPAPN and was wanting some info my case worker hasn't specified. First, with the ETOH testing, they say don't use hand sanitizer/ vanilla extract/ect but looking through my daily use products i feel like i'm getting confused cause does that mean i can't use lotion, shampoo, conditioner, perfume, make up, soap...ect everything has ceytl alcohol in it so i'm wondering if those are ok to use. Also on the drug testing note is there anything else that causes a false positive that i need to look out for like decongestants, energy drinks/pre-workout ingredients, ect? My next question is that my case manager didn't quit specify if I need to have a consent to disclose/prescription/progress report with doctors like a dentist or my gynecologist or any other type of non-psych doctor...do i? I have just graduated and have no idea what i got myself into with nursing and with tpapn and am scared it's going to be awful. so far all i have done is have my assessment and they recommended basic monitoring and some counseling. I know i need to register with the recovery trek but am putting that off until my case manager decides what i need to do cause i really don't want to have to do 90/90 unless i have to and i don't want to have to start drug screen earlier than needed cause i don't have a job and 55 a pop seems pretty expensive... i feel lost and am scared i will mess up something minor that will ruin the whole process. any answers and advice would be super awesome!

What labs do they have you go to and how much is it? What do you do if you go out of town or have an emergency or are sick and can't do a u/a?

I signed an agreement with tbon a couple of years ago that states that in order to sit for the nclex and attend nursing school i have to go to tpapn. not having money for a lawyer at the time i signed the order but now that graduation is coming up in december i am regretting not having asked money to get a lawyer. Is it too late now? Can i get a lawyer now and get this tpapn thing dropped or something not so crazy? I had a misdemeanor theft charge in '08 and went to rehab in '11 and will have 5 years sober on the 23rd of this month. All the tpapn rules and restrictions would be great if i was just getting sober but at this point it's not and i don't want it to get in the way of my employment or going on to get my bsn. Also what is up with the alcohol testing? how can you not come in contact with alcohol in the health care setting or any setting....hand sanitizer, pads, meds, perfume, ect how do they expect anyone to pass a test that is so sensitize it test positive for hand sanitizer?
