Binghamton BAT 2021-2022

Published

Hey everyone! Just starting a thread for this cycle's BAT/ABSN program at Binghamton that's starting next Summer 2021. I've just submitted the SUNY transfer app, but holding off on submitting the actual BAT app for a little while longer. Hoping we can use this thread to talk about the program and post questions like years prior! The deadline isn't until November so it's still way early, but having the thread ready to go doesn't hurt. I'm also applying to Buffalo and Brockport so I'll likely be active in those threads as well! ?

No I didn't I hope this isn't the case. I have 12 more credits until my bachelors is completed. Maybe call again and ask them?

That explanation for admission made absolutely no sense so I just sent the nursing department an email regarding my concern.

I got the email around 5 pm! I have a 3.75 pre-req GPA and around a 3.6 overall! I have no medical (CNA) experience but I have experience in mental health (I worked on a suicide hotline).

Did you have outstanding prerequisites?

Only developmental psych but I have a BS in psychology so they probably weren’t too concerned about it. I also didn’t have to submit a progress report

Do you guys think that they’ll review our applications again after we send in our grades from this semester?

Last year when I applied, I was taking 2 prereqs in the fall. They asked for a progress report about mid November when the app was due. When the semester ended I sent over my updated transcript with the final grades. It's definitely possible it could enhance your application, but who knows, they may have reviewed your application already. I don't know if they will review it all over again. I would say if you achieved good grades in the prereqs that you're in right now send them over! All it can do is help.

Has anyone else heard back? Also, are there two different Chemistry prereqs we need?

The admission office told me the program is 10% acceptance rate.  the program is so competitive. ?

Nope, still nothing. And I believe we need both Chem 1 & 2.

Oh really? I was told a few different times that they receive between 350-400 apps for 90 spots. Not quite 10% but still competitive.

Did anyone receive the decision?

Did you take 2 Chemistry courses? I’m not sure where you took your pre-reqs but in the SUNY system we have to take: General Chemistry 1 & General Chemistry 2. So it’s a total of 8 credits completed in 2 semesters. Is that how you took it? @lovspup

No I only took one gen chem course that was 6 units..I'm in california so wasn't sure how they'd transfer over. I'll probably reach out to advising to confirm
