First Question.... Decency

How do I keep my scrub pants out of my butt? I already wear granny panties. I tried a girdle but I could not wear it because it holds in heat. My daughter is always yelling POA....pants outta a**!

Second Question... Perspiration

I sweat profusely. I am considering wearing an undershirt to absorb sweat. Will that help me feel more comfortable or will the extra layer just make things worse? How hot are nursing homes in the summer?

Third Question... Shaping Up

Did you lose weight when you started working as a CNA? How long did it take develop the neccesary muscle strength needed to transfer residents all day long? Will my arms feel like wet noodles?

Funny post. You know, I've heard of fake butt cheek implants (made of rubber). I think you just put them on, I don't know how. I know you can buy them in Asia, I've never gotten a pair though. Back then, I thought, If I could put a pair on, then my pants wouldn't tend to go down when I bend. I've always worn medium sized pants and I've spent a great deal of time, pulling them up during clinicals. :) I should've bought the tie-around-the waist pants!

I've always worn a cotton undershirt, since our uniform doesn't pass the bend-over test. It's almost like a requirement. If ya don't need one, don't get one.

Wet Noodles?? Nah, the more lifting you do, the better it is for your arms. :p Have fun!

Decency: I just wear either a thong or pantyhose/stockings. That normally keeps pants from up your butt. I also wear scrub pants with drawstring to keep them attached at my hips.

Perspiration: If the facility is warm, I personally wouldn't add any extra layers. I usually grin to myself when I see a co-worker sweating. I assume they're working hard.

Shaping-up: I noticed muscle mass in my arms and legs after my first week working. I believe if you eat right, this job will help burn fat. Practice proper body techniques, and it'll decrease your chances of muscle aches.

try one size larger, and if you can find scrubs in WOMENS sizes try that (they should have a ls deeper "rise")

It does not matter how big the pants are they always get caught up in my crack. I do not have time to be "picking wedgies" all day. I have considered a skirt but I really do not want to go that route.

it would seem scrubs are just not "cut" right for your body.....if you sew, you can make them fit, or perhaps they would allow you to wear some other pair of pants that fit better, with a scrub top?

Lol. . . wedgies, I hate those! By the way, I meant "Fake Butt Cheeks made of rubber, definitely NOT implants." Is it possible for ya to just wear short shorts inside? They might work in preventing wedgies. :)

I wear bike shorts instead of panties under my scrub pants. It prevents the wedgie, prevents the dreaded upper inner thigh rub *shudder,* and slims slightly.

I always wear a tank top under my scrub top. I keep deoderant at work and reapply throughout my shift if I'm worried I've been "working too hard." :)

I've found that a one size larger than I need scrub pant with a drawstring waist is the only thing that is flattering to my pear shape. :D Good luck!

same suggestion, try scrubs in WOMENS sizes instead of MISSES.........presuming we are talking of Rubenesque butts.....you may need to make your own.....

Unfortunately I don't get to choose my own scrubs, I wear the hospital issue surgery scrubs and change in our locker room when I get to work and leave. They're definitely not made for a feminine figure (because they're unisex...), so I just choose to wear a size up. More room in the tush that way! Drawbacks: parachute legs, way too much fabric at the waist...

But on the "yay" end of that spectrum, I don't have to buy scrubs or launder them anymore! :D

On the pants: I think the bike shorts thing is a good idea, also going up in size will for sure help.

I also tend to have a "ahem" perspiration problem. I got this weird prescription deodorant from my Dr. and it helps a lot. You put it on at night and you'll stay totally dry the next day. The stuff I have is called "Hypercare" [kinda funny] but I'm sure there's a ton of different kinds.

Also cutting down on caffeine helps, if you can take it :)

I have issues with underarm sweating too. Most of the time it happens just because. I found this stuff at Wal-Mart called "Certain Dry". It's about $5 and you use it every 72 hours. Put it on before bed so it has time to absorb and work the next day. It's awesome stuff!

You're arms will get stronger as you go. I was a SAHM for about 6 years and put on a good 30-40 pounds after 2 pregnancies and being inactive. I've been a CNA for about 5 weeks and have already lost around 10 lbs. I don't take money with me into work to avoid the vending machines. I take my lunch and try to watch my portion size. I also have a reusable water bottle that I keep in the break room fridge, I drink that instead of pop (soda, if that's what you call it there! Lol!).
