BHSN-Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Fall 2011

Started a new thread, since the other threads on this topic look like they are from last year.

Okay,

I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!

I was going totally mental with anxiety, checking this board several times a day to see when people were hearing back, compared to when they had applied and what their stats were. I was also very nervous about how I had done on the TEAS, so I wanted to post my info to help other people a little. Here are my stats:

I applied to the school January 4th, 2010. I took the TEAS January 23rd, 2010.

Previous BA degree in anthropology. I graduate in August of 2009 with a 3.46 cumulative GPA.

I took A&P I last fall, at Gateway: B

Developmental Psych: A

TEAS: 81.2% (mean national was 72.8% and the mean for the program 73.3%)

My adjusted individual scores were as follows:

Reading: 82.5%

Math: 82.2%

Science: 70%

English: 85.5%

In all my nervousness, I called two days ago and was told that I would likely hear back from the in school 4-6 weeks. Then I got my letter today, February 5th. For the record, my admissions essay was based on a CNA training course I took in the fall and I also think that having a previous BA really helped, especially in seeing past that nasty 70% in the science section of the TEAS.

Good luck and I hope this information was helpful, or at least of interest, to some of you!!

You received another email, or was that just your receipt email? I haven't received anything besides my order confirm… :(

haha i know.. its such a tease! i would have picked out the 16 if i had the option. i have tonss of stuff(movies, music, pictures, apps) on my iphone and its not even half full.

yea it was my confirmation. it said that it should be 4weeks. i almost wish i didnt get the 3g so i would have it! haha but i just have to wait.. thats all i seem to be doing for EVERYTHING anyways!! i am getting kinda used to it!

I know, right. I keep asking myself if 3G is really worth it. You can now tether to your iPhone and use it's 3G service instead, so you can save yourself the extra monthly service charge. Check this out http://crazyedy.com/tech/?p=500 Is spending another $130 on the 3G model even worth it... hmm...

Any mail today?? (holding breath)

nothing again...

I am feeling good about you hearing next week. They can't possibly have that many more to get through. :anbd: I would think that may is when they start working through the waitlist, that is even if they have one. I have yet to hear of one person who has been put on a wait list. Perhaps that is what is taking them so long... Maybe they are waiting to see how many people who've been accepted submit their matriculation fee. That way they can send out more acceptance letters as opposed to any wait list letters. Just a thought.

Is there anyone else still waiting to receive a letter?

A girl in my A&P class found out she was wait listed for BHSN last Tuesday.

i was wait listed hopefully there is not alot of us. stay positive:p

i reallllyyy hope soo!! i really cant stop second guessing my self about things and it is making me soo on edge! i just want to know either way! i have been telling my self that it is ok if i didnt get in and i know why and that i will just have to do something else for next year..but i just want to be accepted soooo bad!!!

jdoll - Did they tell you how many people were on the wait list and what number you are? Wonder how it works. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. XX

Wannabe - It really sounds like you should find out real soon… let's hope for this week! Keep us posted. :) Oh, and I just noticed that Apple FINALLY posted a shipping date on the 3G iPads. But get this… ships by May 7th! What happened to April?!?! Sigh… guess we'll just have to wait a little longer. What else is new…

Hi wannabe.

It took them along time to send out notifications to some people last year. Thats just the way they do things I guess. Some people had gotten notice that they got in, waitlisted, or rejected long before I got my acceptance. I was actually sure I didn't get in after a while but I did so stay positive. You'll find out soon. :)

Are you currently in the program msdeannah? If you are, how's the first year been there?

no I actually decided on capital. I'm in my second semester. Capital was closer and they gave me a scholarship so it was the better choice for me. Congrats to you ladybug on getting in.
