BEWARE of online nursing degrees

RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE......

Achieve Test Prep are crooks! They lock you into a contract making you pay 46% of $13,000 after canceling ONE class. They will attempt to reach you several times to get you to sign, making promises they will not keep. If you fail the test, it takes 6 months to be approved to test again and you have to pay for it again.ATP promises LPN to RN in 12 months but in reality it will take 2-3 years AFTER you pass the exams and the time it takes to schedule clinicals or retake exams. They don't offer help or tutoring, although they say they have a program called achieve 911. You can NEVER get a hold of anyone- all conversation or questions need an APPOINTMENT! Then they will send an email saying "Sorry, we tried to reach you" when in fact they DID NOT!. They lie and their promises are only VERBAL- Nothing in writing!. They STOLE over $5,000 for ONE CLASS. Save your money! ENROLL in a community college.

Achieve test prep isn't a school. It is a test prep service. Always read the fine print.

Believe me the collective "we" at AllNurses try to warn students about these scams. But desperate, uninformed and sometimes just willfully ignorant people don't listen. (Not saying you.are any of these OP)

I just went to their website to see if they try to bill themselves as a school or if it seems like they're trying to dupe people into thinking they are an accredited college (because I've never heard of them before). This is at the bottom of the "Nursing Degrees" page:

"Achieve Test Prep is a college education consultant and test preparation center that helps you earn your degree faster. Achieve Test Prep is not a college and does not issue degrees or give college credit. The programs listed above and elsewhere on this website (e.g. BSN Bridge Programs) are test preparation programs offered by Achieve Test Prep to prepare you to take exams from an independent accredited college, or an independent testing center, to enable you to earn your degree (BSN or ASN as the case may be) from such college. While Achieve Test Prep is an expert on the policies and procedures of many colleges, nonetheless, we do not have any affiliation or agreement with those colleges and the final decisions about credits and degrees rest with the colleges. You must independently apply for, and be accepted into a college."

Seems pretty clear/forthcoming, no?

well if they attempt that route, they aren't going to make it in.

What's the saying? If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. There is nothing wrong with legitimate online programs. I did my RN-BSN online and my Masters-from Duke- online. The online part is not the problem.

But it is only because they were sued by multiple states that that clear/forthcoming language now exists. What they tell students on the phone leads the gullible to believe otherwise.

They regularly have a sponsored post that shows up on my Facebook page and they're inundated with responses asking questions. Looks like there's no shortage of people interested in using them. They're very vague in their answers though, and the majority of people posting are obviously unfamiliar with how the nursing program and licensing works.
