U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone applied to Beth Israel NYC for this coming Fall? I applied there and I really want to get in. I always wanted to go. If anyone knows if it's hard to get in, or what score they are looking for on the NLN exam that would be rally helpful. And is it true that the only start giving interviews in May????

Im so nervous too!!! Im trying not to think about it cuz I have a Micro exam tomorrow ugh!

Goodluck to all of us :(

Hi future nurses,

Surprisingly, I'm not nervous. I think I drove my myself as crazy as I could get in the past few weeks. I'm just hoping for the best. I forgot today was committee day. I hope we all get excited. Can't wait to meet you guys at the orientation .

Hi ladies! I hope everyone had a great mother's day weekend too.. sorry for being a bit late on that. =)

Finals are coming up soon and I'm so anxious to get the semester over with! Right now, I need a little bit of advice and I hope you guys could help me.

Currently, I'm a student at Hunter College and for the past two years, my goal was to get accepted into the Hunter nursing program. I know it is very competitive, but I would hate myself if never tried for it. Yesterday, I received my rejection email from them. I was devastated, but I applied to other schools too, like PBISN. A lot of people at my school who get rejected, stays for another year to try to boast up their gpa and apply again the following year, but I don't really want to waste another year like that. I have some friends telling me its fine, because they think I'm still young.. only 20. My goal before was to graduate with a BSN, but PBISN is only a ASN program.

What do you ladies think? Do you ladies think that I should stay in Hunter for another year to boast up my gpa and apply again the following year? (but what happens if i get rejected again?) or should i go to PBISN if i get accepted and then work my way from ASN to BSN? I had some friends who advised me not to do that, because I am already in a four year college, that i shouldn't work my way back. As of right now, I have almost all of my liberal arts and science courses done. I can't wait to start my clinicals!

Right now, I'm so nervous about whether I get accepted into PBISN or not. I just emailed them. I got rejected from one school already.. I don't know if I can face another rejection in the course of two days. lol.

Oh, btw, I found out my NLN score. I have a composite score of 135.

Thank you all for your advice and sorry for writing such a long post! =)

Welcome jenny ,

sorry to hear about the rejection from Hunter, but I hear all CUNY schools are close to impossible to gain entry. As far as PBISN goes, if you do get accepted you should definitely accept the admission. I am sure you could obtain your BSN later in less time and with tuition reimbursement depending on your place of employment.

Good Luck to you, please keep us posted

Jenny 329,

Sorry to hear about your rejection from Hunter. Good news.....You're NLN score are good for PBISON.

Now, my :twocents::twocents:, if you are accepted to BI accept the offer. Since you've completed most of your liberal arts classes, you will have a lighter work load when you study for your BSN. Some schools have a 3 year BSN-MSN program for students with an ADN. I personally wouldn't wait to be accepted into a school when a great school is offering an seat.

Good luck to you, you'll make the right decision for your lifestyle and dreams :redpinkhe.

Hello everyone,

I called the school a little while ago, ** ***** said the committee are still reviewing my application and ask if I would be open to the ATOP program, since I applied to the evening. I don't know if that's a good thing but I will keep on praying and believing.

Anyone else recieved an email or call...

I called her just now... She says the committee met yesterday but didn't finish. She told me they'll meet again next Thursday, May 21st... and to call on Friday. Hm... I thought waiting would be over by now. :( I'm stressing out so much.. a little bit too much..

Hi everyone,

I just spoke to someone at the office and they said that the committee is going through the applications alphabetically. They reviewed A-K yesterday. The rest of us letters will have to wait till next week. :(

hello ladies and gentleman,

first off thank you all for your kind words and inspiration. my spirits are better now following my reject letter...lol....good luck and success to all of you !!

thank you again

Hi everyone, well I got some good news today. I got an interview at LICHSON. I'm pretty excited. I know it isn't as good as BI, but I did a lot of research and everyone says it doesn't really matter what school you go to. Nurses are in such short supply. My bro is a doctor and he says it's the same at that level. He has his MD from USC and he works with someone from Harvard and someone from a school he's never heard of. Just as long as you do well. So, anyway, I'm excited.

Jennyy329 - sorry about Hunter. 135 is a good score too. Do you mind me asking which program at BI you are applying for?

Congrats bp2244! Yeah you're right it really doesnt matter nowadays. Maybe if its another career it would matter but for nursing I don't think so. Its just hard getting into the program :)

Oh thanks kitty.. I didn't hear her when she said that they just finished up A-K.. my last name starts with P.. 5 more letters dam haha.

Jenny329, those are pretty good scores. I bet you'll get in

oh i didnt check my email.. this is what they said..

" please advise her that the committee met yesterday but, since there were 68 on the agenda, we only got up to the candidates whose last names ended in "g". we will reconvene tomorrow and have a 3rd meeting on thursday 5/21. she may be presented at tomorrow's meeting or next week. ask her to check back on thursday of this week to see how far the committee has progressed.
