Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone was applying to Beth Israel this fall or next Jan? Has anyone had an interview yet?
I have an interview with them next Thursday and was wondering if someone could give me an idea of how the interview process goes? This is my first choice school and really want to make sure I do everything I can to better my chances.
I was scheduled for the Open House back in Feb but had a last min. emergency so I missed it. I went in and personally handed in my application on Mar 1st. ( cutting it really close... i know). While there I spoke with Mrs. "*" and she was so helpful and nice. I also spoke with a male student who was playfully bugging her at the front desk and he was so cool. He told me about the teachers, the program, described his experience and says he loves it. He is part of the student government and was really helpful in answering some of my questions as well as Mrs. *.
So I would love to hear from other applicants. Has anyone applied to other schools besides Beth Israel? How do you feel about the PAX exam? (for those who have taken it or about to take it) Are you still waiting to hear from them or have you heard anything?
Also, if any current students could provide their take on the program, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and good luck to everyone!

I'm waiting for a interview as well. I'm so anxious. I heard that it's a great school and I love how they are so organized with everything.
If you don't mind me asking.. How did you do in the NLN?
I scored a 140 on the NLN which Mrs. * told me was in the 97th percentile. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Have you taken it yet?

Hi. Hope all is well. I too have applied to Beth Israel School of Nursing. I submitted my application in Feb 2012 in hopes of getting into the program for Jan 2013 evening semester. In addition I also applied to 4 other colleges. NYU, College of New Rochelle, Cochoran and Hopfer Nursing school. I completed my Pre-requisite with the exception of Nutriition which I am currently taking in the Spring semster. So far my GPA. is 3.50. I took the NLN exam on Wednesday March 21 and considering this is my 3rd time taking the exam I can't really say how I did. That is the reason why I applied to other schools. NYU and College of New Rochelle is not required to take any pre-entrance exam. They look at other credentials. Such as work experience, GPA and essay. I have another degree in Health Care Administration earning a BS and I have been in the field for over 10 years. I chose Nursing because it has become a passion and a calling for me to help the sick. I am 36 years old and changing my career. I hope and pray that I get into the any of these schools that I applied for.
Hi Chae,
I also applied to Cochran and Hopfer as well. Cochran told me they couldn't consider me until in take micro which is my last pre-req I'm taking this summer so they are last on my list. Hopfer is my close second to Beth Israel. I like that they have a different entrance exam and that they only consider the grades of your pre-reqs to calculate your GPA. I have a 4.0 so far overall but when I decided to go back to school last fall, these were the schools I had in mind since I didn't know how I would do due to being out of school for a while.
Have you heard back from Hopfer? I received a letter from them to choose different dates to come in and take the TEAS test so I'm waiting to hear which date I received.
I hope we get into every school and our biggest worry is which school gave the biggest financial aid package. :)
Good Luck!
I haven't heard anything from Hopfer. However, they have received my application for the evening schedule. I am schedule to take the ATI exam in 2 weeks. They are a few documents that I am missing. All I could do is impatiently wait for my acceptance to any of the schools which I applied for. I'll keep you posted. Did you take the paper exam NLN? How long did you received your result?
Best of luck to you as well
Chae
No, I took the computer exam at Hunter. By the time I got home, I had my results. I couldn't take the paper exam and wait weeks for my results. I would have sent crazy.
Are we the only ones interested in Beth Israel this year?

Hi, Im also waiting for an interview. I took the NLN March 6. I called ***** 2 weeks later and she told me that the results where in and that my application was being reviewed by the commitee. Just sent her an email today to find out the status of my application. High school gpa was shaky but college 3.64 overall pre-req 4.0. composite score 128. 95% science, 83% verbal and a Suckie 40 something for math. im hopping that my background as a medical assistant and pulmonary function technician for the past 20yrs overides my math score. Well good luck to everyone.
You should definitely get a call for an interview. I had mine today and my interviewer stressed the science grades and score on the NLN. Yours is great and your NLN score is in the 90th percentile so you should be fine. They focus on the grades, NLN scores and then your essay. She also stated that if your called in for a interview, then your most likely accepted. Just hold on a bit longer.
