  1. Hi, could you tell me how did you find out that you should receive your decision by yesterday? Was the admissions office able to tell you that? The last time I spoke to the admissions office, they told me that if you have not received an email, it means that they have not made a decision on your application. Once a decision is made, they will send out the email within 24 hours. Admissions decisions will be made on a rolling basis.
  2. I'm currently at Hunter College and they haven't registered for Fall 2012 yet. So there is still time. Just call them up and see if it's too late. Another school where you can take most of these courses would be at BMCC or LAGCC.
  3. Hi Alan Whenever you submit an application for school, you do run the risk of getting rejected. That's just the fact of the matter. I would recommend volunteer work at a hospital or in a clinical setting in order to increase your chances of getting in. I submitted my resume in addition to the other documents necessary. There are quite a bit of prereqs to do and it might take you a little bit longer than a year to do them all at the same time. So I guess it might be too late but you never know :) Make sure you get As or B+ at the minimum for Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology I & II, and Chemistry. They look at that very carefully. For all of the other prereqs, Bs are fine. I'm not sure when the deadlines for the community colleges are, but I would recommend just giving them a call and go from there. I would also check with the colleges to see if you are able to realistically finish all of the prereqs within the one year frame. Additionally, since you will more than likely be considered a non-degree student, you might have a hard time registering into the classes that you want. So I would take that into consideration as well when you make the phone calls. The schools should be able to answer your questions about that. If you have any other questions, let me know. I hope this helps and good luck :) Breukelen
  4. Hi! I have a bachelor's degree and I was accepted for Fall 2012 to start the progam with the ATOP schedule. I took all of my prereqs at a CUNY school. They will take those transfer credits. I believe the only one I was missing was the Biomedical Ethics course. The only exam that I know they require is the NLN. Before I was accepted, I went on the interview and we discussed the various tracks. Let's just say you apply through one track and they believe you are a better fit in another track, they will let you know during the interview and have you considered under a different track instead (at least this was the case with me). If hope this helps. If you have any questions, let me know :)
  5. I'm in the same boat. I called up NYU yesterday and was told that if you have not received an email then it means that they have not made a decision about your application.. my take from this is "no news is good news" good luck everyone :)
  6. i recommend calling NYU to make sure they have everything they need.. in Albert, everything is checked off for me.. i know that they've started releasing decisions for some students for the accelerated BSN program as of Thursday of last week..
  7. thanks!! i'm soooo nervous!
  8. congrats! i still haven't received word yet.. did you find out via email?
  9. i'm right there with you lol
  10. CUNY and SUNY are both public universities.. CUNY = City University of New York (based in NYC) SUNY = State University of New York SUNY tuition is higher than CUNY tuition.
  11. awesome thanks! i called them yesterday and they told me to give them a call back next week if i haven't heard from them. i'm crossing my fingers and maybe i'll see you there in the fall :)
  12. I found it on their admissions website. I called them later on after I haven't heard anything and was told that we should start hearing back by mid April. I should have clarified with another post. Sorry for the confusion. Good luck!
  13. i've also applied to NYU, LIU, FDU, Beth Israel, StonyBrook
  14. thanks! i'll let you know if i get in :) my friend graduated from the program in 2009 and pushed me to apply.. i hope to get in...
  15. no not yet.. i don't think i'll hear back until the end of the month.. one of my letters of recommendations was just sent out yesterday.. so my guess is that it'll take some time before it will get there and get processed... i will probably give them a call the beginning of next week to get more info as to how soon i can expect to hear back.
