Is it just me, or does anyone else think Lactulose smells really good? Just wondering....
Steph...sorry to let you down! I only *get* to smell it straight from the stock bottles..guess it loses it's potency once it's dispensed...'cause the stuff straight from the stock bottle ain't pretty...smells like nasty feet!
Ditto the insulin...had a pharmacist drop a vial on Lantus on the floor and it broke...pharmacy reeked like some kind of rubbery alcohol for 3 days.
IV penicillin (if spilled) is also a bad one...like astringent fish! And that smell will stay with ya all day. (Like C-dif or an old man's breath in the morning...the two smells that I always seem to have "stuck" in my nose, even after I've gone home :barf01:)
Aldex dm smells great! (grape flavor)
Worst smell? Cleocin po by far - smells like bug spray. Procalamine smells horrible - had an not so brilliant pharmacy tech send us a glass bottle thru our pneumatic tube chute. The bottle broke when it landed, surprise! That was over a year ago and our chute still smells - reminds me of stale urine!
Lactulose is.. not what I would smell all day if I could. But that's just me.The smell of Maalox is what I consider pleasant. :-)
Mucomyst is probably the worst. Blech.
I was waiting for someone to say that one...Mucomyst - disgusting - like rotting eggs!
Also, if I remember correctly, Carafate smells like bubblegum.
Nystatin doesn't smell too bad either.

Best are probably liquid augmentin, amoxicillin, children's motrin, and dimetapp...
Worst for me are Mucomyst (rotten eggs) and regular insulin (gross indescribable smell)... YUCK!!
