Thought I would put this thread up for those of us who have applied to BC RN program.
I know we won't find out until mid-April if we made it or not, but how did everyone do on the TEAS test???? I have heard alot of horror stories about test scores.
On Friday I spoke with whoever answered the phone at the Nursing Department. The counselor I emailed was also the one I met with for my nursing advising. The information I received was similar to the advising she gave me at the beginning of February. They probably do not want to give information out due to the waiting list applicants and how messy this application period has been.
I would rather not give out the counselor's name. Because I took the fifth version, I am not too concerned with the average of the fourth version. From my understanding, the way they are going to compare the two versions are only in tie situations with weight given to those who took the fifth version.
This issue of TEAS has already been beaten to death on this thread. (mostly by me. thanks for putting up with me, everyone!) bellevue questions, is the following based on recent information from BC or your assumption? we already had an answer on this by someone else.
bellevuequestions-"From my understanding, the way they are going to compare the two versions are only in tie situations with weight given to those who took the fifth version"
Hello everyone, they are accepting both version 4 and 5, and they are looking at percentile and not individual scores. This information was given to me by the nursing dept. at Bellevue. Hopefully this helps reassure those that took 4 it will be accepted, and those that took 5 that they are not being penalized as 5 is indeed a harder test.
This is reiterating what my last email said but let me give you verbatim what they said from an email last week.... "Comparisons will be made between students who took the 2 different versions in cases such as tie-breakers, with weight given to people who took the version 5 test."
I'm honestly not sure about if they will be comparing scores or percentiles but it only seems fair that it would be percentiles.
Do you mind if I asked what you received on the TEAS Test?
84%-86% is the average for last year. I called in today and was told that they do not have the average score for this year till end of summer. and if they only compare the 2 versions in a-tie situation, i think that is not that fair. I was told they will advise students who took version 4 that they will take some points off their score, it is the istudents' choice that either to take version 5 or taking points off version 4. here somebody else said that they will go by percentile.
So which story is true? Anybody knows?
@bellevuequestions -it is already posted on this thread. thank you for clarifying that it was from an email with the school. it sounded like it was an intrepretation from your post rather than a literal statement.
@Kiara2007 I think you and i are in the same boat so i feel your pain. Please do not stress. email . she takes care of the admission stuff. she can give you a straight answer and you can post it here:)you can get her email by calling the department or PM me and i will give it to you.
I guess this is where the confusion sets in! I didn't even realize they were accepting version 4 until I read this thread. It seems like comparing percentiles would be the only fair way to do it, but what do I know... From reading other threads on this board it sounds like the avg scores for version 5 are about 10 points lower than version 4, so it would be really unfair to compare them side by side.

I don't recall the name. I called Friday before they closed. The person I talked with informed me about when to expect the letter. I have also been emailing the counselor I met with prior to taking the Teas Test.
