Thought I would put this thread up for those of us who have applied to BC RN program.
I know we won't find out until mid-April if we made it or not, but how did everyone do on the TEAS test???? I have heard alot of horror stories about test scores.
I just wanted to add that my information was told to me via phone by Mccaughey. (Program coordinator) this was in response to my question about the acceptance of teas 4 since there is a 5-10 point drop in scores for an individual going from test 4 to 5 and I was concerned that those of us/you who took version 5 were being unfairly compared. Now this was in MARCH, so they may have changed how they are processing the applications. It would make sense that in a tie teas 5 carries more weight as it is a harder test, not just my opinion, confirmed by ATI sending notice to all schools who use it that they should expect a drop in scores from applicants taking 5 as compared to previous years.
I am just as anxious as the rest of you, I am a 3.8-4.0 (even in a&p w/ Ellinger) student, and still only made an 86 on the version 5 teas, which is 98%. Guess I should have studied more lol So I would suspect anyone making over a 90 on the TEAS V is definitely in. They used to only look at teas score and NOTHING else, and I don't know if that has changed but if not I may not get in with an 86.
As for having the scores average for this year, almost two weeks ago I was told by phone with one of the general phone girls that they would not have this years until the end of April after all apps were processed. I am starting to get more anxious now too. I was horrified at getting an 86 and have resolved to take it again and apply again if needed. I wish the best of luck to all of us, it has been a long haul doing all the pre reqs and this wait is stressful.
In the meantime.... how many of you have already taken CNA and the 7 hours of hiv aids? I am waiting until I get a letter before pursuing them.

Straight from the program coordinators mouth they are accepting both this year, although they were not going to, until they found many places had gotten notice late and were still giving the version 4 test. (That was told to me in March) percentile was what she said they were going by, as percentile is a not going to change depending on which version you took while your actual score would. IE Whether measured in inches or centimeters, your individual height would vary, but what percentile you fall into as compared to others using the same measurement units would not change. So I might have made a high 90 on version 4, but my percentile would still have been a 98 not a 99 or 100. Does this help?
I also was informed that the counselor who is sending out the acceptance letters is out until the middle of this week and we will not receive them until the following week.... .
That is this week you guys! our acceptance letters are sailing through the mail somewhere! Come on post office and get them here soon!
If anyone sees their letter during the day today, please post! i might be able to get out work long enough to run home and check the mail. :)
