Thought I would put this thread up for those of us who have applied to BC RN program.
I know we won't find out until mid-April if we made it or not, but how did everyone do on the TEAS test???? I have heard alot of horror stories about test scores.
@ kiara2007- i have not spoken to her more recently than you, but i think what that means is that they will compare by percentile like cstatic said earlier. but, if they end up in a situation where the last few people are all on the same percentile they will favor the version 5 people. please note.*** this is just my interpretation.
as far as the average for this year i dont think we will know until way later.
I would suggest taking a deep breath, relaxing, and stop calling! It won't change the outcome and can only annoy those taking your calls. If I were applying, I would really try not to do that! Some of the people answering the phones at the front desk probably don't know anything about what is going on - they answer the phones for the whole health sciences department. If you want your letters, let them do their work and get them in the mail .
Bandaide, I agree with you; the more time they spend trying to answer these calls and questions the less time they spend actually doing the work we are wondering about. So lets let them do their jobs so we can find out faster!! I don't know about this percentile versus score thing because it doesn't seem that clear to me how going on one versus the other would be more accurate but I will tell you all this if it helps you at all, I took the version 5 and got a score of 90 with a percentile of 99%. What that means to me is that one percent or less of all people who took version 5 got a 90 or above. So based on this information, I highly doubt that the average for version 5 was a score of 89.
i haven't heard anything yet, or called the school. i just figured as anxious as i am to find out about admission, it won't change anything if i call. i just hope i submitted everything correctly and that my score is enough to get in.
as for the teas, i took version 4 to practice last year and then version 5 at bellevue this year. i did poorly on my first try at 5, bought the study guide from ati and did all the practice tests that came with it and did much better on my second try. i thought that 5 was tougher, but also left out some of the unnecessary things like geology that were on version 4. i scored in the 99th percentile for program, 98th for national rank on vs. 5. the studying really helped me improve my score.
i will be watching the mailbox carefully until that letter comes, but i know it is out of my hands now! good luck to everyone!

@roseRNhopeful, I spoke with today and that is what she told me. Did you try to talk to her recently?Do you know what is the average score to get in for this year? She said they will not have the data till end of summer.
@lacp, That is what I heard too, I agree with you it is really unfair to compare the 2 scores side by side.
