Specializes in Geri, Home Health, OB GYN.

]I am a field supervisor for primary home care. AKA I hire and fire attendants for clts that get assistance from the state. The state caseworker does the inital assesment, sends me paperwork with task and hours and I hire the attendant. I do a supervisory visit every 3 months and am the middle person between the clt and caseworker. I work 8:30-5 Monday - Friday, on call every 4th week (for an extra $150 or $250 during holidays plus if I go out time and a half) paid insurance, 2 weeks vacation, mileage, the perks of getting to leave early for family stuff and I get paid more than when I was working assisted living as a charge nurse. LOVE IT:yeah:

Wow!!! How do you get this job??? This sounds awsome..... Is this a national company??? I live in Maryland... thank in advance for your response.....:redbeathe:redbeathe

No, it's not a national company. If you are looking for such a job, take a look at your local Visiting Nurse Association. They are all independent agencies that function under the umbrella of the VNA. They are usually well established in the community and not a fly-by-night agency.

Clinical Research. Before that I was on office nurse Ob/Gyn and did some management stuff for the group. I make about what new grads inthis are make. I have been a nurse for 14 years now and was never a hospital nurse.

i do medical adult day care..and it is great

Specializes in Psychiatric.

I took a small pay cut when I went from hospital nurse to clinic nurse at a mental health clinic...but the job's great...it's weekdays only, no nights, no weekends, paid vacations, it's a county job so the benefits are great, and I'm the only nurse there so I don't have to work 'with' everybody else's schedule...

I do a little bit of everything...a lot of it is renewing scripts for patients, but I also do weekly injections, biweekly education classes, crisis intervention, reordering sample meds and patient assistance meds...calls related to medications, side effects, and general medical questions get routed to me. I really like the job because I get to educate my patients and I get to work with my favorite patient population. I also like working with my coworkers.

has anyone ever thought about doing medical transcription? nurses know the medical terms, anatomy and physiology so i think its easy job for nurses. they can work at home and they can have extra income. has anyone done this work ?
