BCIT Nursing Sept 2021 Intake

Published

Hello!

Just wanted to start a new topic for the next intake for those applying in Feb 1 2021- March 15 2021 for the Sept 2021 intake at BCIT!

Sorry if this has been mentioned earlier (too lazy to look back and read all the posts since I should be studying LOL) but does anyone know when we'll find out if we're shortlisted and also when acceptances would be sent out?

I think someone mentioned earlier in the thread that we would be notified if we are shortlisted in May and acceptances will be sent out in June.

dang I thought we would've heard back sooner than that but I guess I'm being way too optimistic ?

my status just got changed to 'pending department review'! I think it's because I kept re-uploading documents so maybe they got annoyed of me ?

Does anyone know what kind of questions BCIT asks in the noncognitive questionnaire? Also, is anyone registered for the LIBS classes in the Summer?

Can I ask which LIBS classes you are taking? Are you taking them to beef up your credits/application?

Hi, has anyones status been updated from pending department review?

No, I am expecting it to change in May.

I'm so nervous! I just spent the last hour looking at everyone's posts/comments and you guys are so supportive! I'm envious of everyone's grades and healthcare experiences, the latter is what I lack the most ?

To add to the stats:

  • I submitted my application sometime between Feb 23-25 and they sent back an "Application Received" on Feb 26
  • I did the Casper test on Feb 28
    • It was extremely nerve-wracking and I wish I studied more for it, but to be fair, I didn't exactly start to consider BCIT Nursing until January, and I only had 2 weeks to prepare for Casper (I wasn't able to do the April 6th test because I had work that day ?)
  • My status changed to "Department Review" on March 15
  • I have been religiously checking the myCommunication emails like the morning paper ever since the status changed ?

I am definitely curious to know why the acceptances are later than previous Sept intakes ? I'm thinking it might have to do with the April 6th CASPer test date; it took place half a month after the application deadline, and I'm assuming BCIT won't be able to assess all the applicants until those results are sent in.

I read that acceptances for Sept 2020 were sent out at the end of March, and a third of April has already flown by so quickly. There was someone who said that shortlists/non-cognitive quis would be sent out at the end of May and acceptances at the end of June, which throws a hitch in my plans, but hopefully everything will be okay! I'm actually waitlisted for another healthcare program, but I don't know when I'll actually get an offer for that.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to get in, despite my okay-ish grades and (what I perceive to be) average Casper results ><, so good luck to everyone! ?

Hi, which other healthcare degree are you on the waitlist for? It's definately stress inducing waiting for the results, I wish they would let us know sooner. Good luck on your application ?

I applied to the Respiratory Therapy program at TRU with my completed BSc! ? It's kinda sad that TRU is the only school in BC that offers this program ? Alberta has 2, and Ontario has several. But you can say I was inspired by this pandemic, because it's so relevant to the respiratory therapy profession. Sigh, I hope we hear good news soon!
