BCIT January 2017

Published

Just wanted to start a group for students applying for the BCIT January program!

Hi aaibra,

don't panic please! You're so passionate person and it's definitely not the last chance, even if this one happens to be not perfect! You will get it 100% sooner or a bit later.

I have asked for the deferral, so my spot will be cleared and somebody will be getting it, maybe you)))

Yeah, I share you with the burning anxiety, aaibra . I have been wondering whether anybody receive any update in their status today.

SO from this thread I counted 9 people excepted. CONGRADS :) Has anyone been placed on the waiting list or not excepted?

I guess they're just sending out acceptances right now. Mine still says, "Pending Department Review." very frustrating

I have been checking literally every 5 minutes, I'm almost afraid that they won't be able to update my status because I am on the page so frequently lol.

Hi everyone,

I have silently been following this thread the whole application process for tips. Just received my acceptance yesterday and am so excited! It looks intensive but I think everyone is capable. They picked you all for a reason!

Hey everyone, I got an acceptance email yesterday. It's been pretty unreal.

Congrats to everyone that was accepted. I hope to meet everyone soon.

Well I got back my status. 'Non-offer', it's kind of heartbreaking. Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted. And good luck to anyone who ends up on the wait-list.

Darista, maybe I'll see you next August. ^_^

Im a non offer as well. So heartbroken. Congratulations to everyone that made it!

jwillis1 and aaaibra Guys, my consoling feeling for you! Please, don't give up. I know how do you feel, as I went through similar experience in UBC Midwifery. However, I got an offer here, and right now I'm gratified that ubc rejected me, as nursing is much more diverse and flexible.

Just give it one more try, reapply for sure if you feel that's right for you.

Lots of people reapply for several times to get into nursing, not even talking about med schools, where people may reapply for many successive years.

Cheer up, get some rest, you deserve it and go ahead

I didn't get in either! Best of luck for those who got in!!! Your going to be amazing future RN's!!

Maybe i'll see some of you guys in August 2017. Remember its a competitive program, what ever you thought your weakest part was improve it! Mine was my grades so I'm taking more classes. Use this as a chance to improve yourself and your application.

Think of the positives! We got shortlisted! Which means we had a 1/2 chance.

Make sure you guys apply again, It looked like last year some people got conditional acceptance before even filling out the questionnaire if they were applying for the second time. I'm so sorry to hear you guys didn't get in :(

Terrelle, really?? IS that even possible to get conditional acceptance without the NCQ? My main problem was not having enough credits.. i applied with 29. I finish two classes this semester so ill have 35 credits when i apply for the August intake. I also plan on taking more Libs courses in January in case I still don't have enough credits ( soooo much money is going to building credits its ridiculous i can't really afford it but i have to) and ill have to take 3 or 4 classes in order to have 44+ credits. I also did not score too highly on the questionnaire (50%) so I'm not sure how to improve on that one. Ill also have to try getting a health care related job. Anyway thanks for the kind words everyone, You will all do amazing in the program :) Hopefully ill see you all one day!
