BCIT January 2018 Intake

Published

Hello everyone!

Now that the 2018 January applications are open, I thought that a thread should be started about it.

To those that are wondering, I'm applying with:

A&P 1 - A-

A&P 2 - A-

Psychology - A-

English - A-

Physics (elective 1) - A-

Philosophy (elective 2) - B

So, overall I'm applying with a 3.55 GPA. I have no previous degree, or relevant work experience. However, I do have relevant volunteer experiences.

I'm so nervous about my chances getting in. How are you guys feeling? What are your grades like?

Good luck to us all! :)

I just asked a friend who is a Nurse, she says their incident reports are just fact based with no opinion added. SO I wonder then, if the nursing admissions are looking for a certain "format" of describing a situation regarding a specific trait/quality and what the result of it was?

They are probably just looking for professional writing.

Thank you so much for all the advice! Good luck to everyone starting tomorrow, I will most likely tackle the "quiz" over the weekend!

I paste the following note here in case some of you have not seen them yet.

As part of the selection process for the BCIT Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program you are being asked to answer four questions keeping within a 250 word limit per question.

This is a timed 90 minute quiz, once you begin you cannot close and restart. You must complete the quiz within one 90 minute session.

Responses will be evaluated based on writing style, grammar and spelling, and whether you have answered the question completely. Marks will be deducted for going over the word limit.

Read the questions carefully and answer thoughtfully, based on your personal and professional experiences. The responses do not need to be health or nursing focused. Please remember to save your answers frequently. At the end of 90 minutes, your questionnaire will be automatically submitted and any unsaved answers will be lost.

All answers will remain confidential.

The quiz must be completed and submitted by October 19 at 2:00 p.m.

To access the quiz, go to the activities tab on the blue menu bar above. From there, select 'Quizzes'.

My friend told me. She got in last intake. She heard that from some nursing students. Well she didn't tell me so before the questionnaire but after. :(

She got in with a foreign medical degree of 120 credits and around 60 UT credits, not just because of the interview.

Has anyone done the questionnaire yet? How was it?

Just finished the questionnaire. The first three questions I felt very prepared to answer, but the fourth question I took the most time on! I finished with 12 minutes left thank god! I am glad that part of the admission process is over because I was worried about what questions they might ask. I hope we find out in less than 2 weeks if we get an offer or not.

What did the questions ask about if you don't mind sharing?

Hey! I just want to know, how was the structure of questions, were they straight or twisted ? Thanks

Was the last question on self-regulation?

Can someone explain self-regulation please?

What did the questions ask about if you don't mind sharing?

For clarification, I am not asking for the questions. I'm just wondering what the topics are. I value academic integrity.

hmm I wonder if everyone's questions will be different? I don't mind sharing sorry for late reply I have been working overtime. The questions I got were 100% based off of the PDF they sent us, which explains the required skills and abilities! I think if you review the PDF and make some of your own questions up then answer them that should all prepare you enough for the quiz!
