BCIT January 2014 Applicants

Specializes in Emergency.

Hi guys,

I thought that now would be an appropriate time to start a new topic for the prospective BCIT nursing students for Jan 2014 (similar threads for previous intakes are also a great source of information).

Hopefully we can share tips, answer questions to the best of our ability, and communicate with each other about when status changes are released and whatnot. Now we can all play the waiting game together, haha! ;)

Thanks for making a new thread! Can't wait to hear back!

Has anyone else been shortlisted? I got an email a few hours ago!

^I got an email earlier today :) Does anyone know how many people are short-listed?

I'm really nervous about the questionnaire! I wonder what kinds of questions will be asked?

if we are shortlisted, do we have to hand in a letter of intent and forms for our references like previous years?...

I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but for previous summer intakes, they had ~98 spots so I assume the number of short-listed applicants is a teensy bit more than that.

And I don't think they're checking references anymore since there's no mention of those at all and the admission requirements have changed. Even for previous intakes, I doubt they went through everyone's references... Maybe this speeds up the process? We'll know the selection committee's final decision by November 1st!

I just found out that I've been shortlisted too. Excited!

I think they've recently replaced letters of intent and references with this questionnaire. I suppose we can look at it as a pseudo-interview...

If I'm not mistaken, the August 2013 intake had no time limit for their questionnaire and were able to stop and save their work. I guess having a 90 minute limit provides the admissions team a more accurate representation of how we respond "on the fly" so to speak but still! It makes the whole process a lot more stressful :(

Thanks for the reply guys ! And good luck to everyone. We are so close!!

This is exciting- I got short-listed as well! I was short-listed for Sept 2013, but did not get offered admission. In the general letter they initially sent me, I was one of 176 people short-listed. The questions on the questionnaire asked about life experience that showcased your communication skills, interpersonal skills, emotional well-being, and being a healthy individual fit to work.

shortlisted too. Excited! I'm a bit nervous about the questionnaire. Anyone has done it and any idea what is it about?

Also I already got accepted to Douglas college nursing program. Any idea which school should I pick?

Wish the best for all u guys
