I am so excited to be starting nursing at BCIT in August!
For future applicants: To have a strong application make sure you have work experience, volunteer experience (preferably healthcare), as well as liberal arts courses - my Psych 241 at SFU transferred over as a libs course and I will find out if any other courses of mine transfer over once I send them an updated transcript.
I am going to be going in with a completed BSc in Kinesiology and Psychology, but a full degree is not necessary, just at least 60 credits to be competitive!
I went to my family doctor and they took an antibody blood test to confirm if I had received all the vaccinations you would normally receive in elementary and high school. You have to have a public health nurse or a physician fill out your immunization record form. Hopefully that helps Chhun3.
First my status changed to 'acceptance has been offered', then I got an email around 1pm. This is my second time applying. Goodluck to everyone still waiting!!
Last intake they sent out acceptance emails the first day then waitlisted emails the second day. However, getting top-waitlisted means you have a very high chance of getting in this intake so don't lose hope - to those still waiting!
When is the Immunization record due? Is it the 27th? I emailed the nursing dept because mine says the 17th but they replied with it moving to the 27th.
