Baylor DNP program? Help!

Hi all, I was curious if anyone has had any experience with Baylor University's FNP DNP program? I've been so impressed with everything so far in the application status, but I'm nervous because I don't know anyone who has conpleted the program. It makes me a little uneasy not knowing anyone who has experience with them.

I have been accepted to start in fall 2019! They do require you to take a prerequisite prior to enrollment (graduate statistics).

I just got done with that! I’m starting this fall too!

I’ve been looking at this program. Is the grad stats class difficult? Any other info? I’m hoping to find a current student and/or graduate also!

Good luck!

You just have to work through it- you can do it. So far, everything has been excellent. Everyone is very prompt, polite, and helpful. I spoke with a student that graduates next semester and she had good things to say. I think, like any other good program, there are certain expectations that you have to meet but not unattainable.

I’ve spoken pretty extensively with an advisor; I was just hoping to hear some first hand experience, you know! I’m looking to start in January possibly

Do you mind me asking what your situation is? What is your background/experience?

Thank you!

I worked in a coronary ICU for 6 years before applying. I obtained the CCRN certification as well. My GPA wasn't great, but I did work extremely hard on my essay (etc.), had very good references, and have done some mission work (with intentions of doing more after graduating).

I start next week, and everything (for the most part) has been very good. They seem to make every effort to help you succeed so far.

Here to see how the program has been going for the people that have already started. Any issues? Has anyone been working full time while doing this/if so how has it been with managing hw and other assignments? Thanks in advance. I’m starting January and am a bit anxious.

Hi there- seriously the only issue I’ve had (just got done with my first semester) is that the instructions are not as specific as I would like them. You should know that they are very, very accommodating and take into account when they need to work on something (for instance, if everyone scores poorly on a quiz- they adjust and will make sure they make it right- it’s a work in progress). I’m working full time and going through the program, it’s doable but obviously you need to be prepared to devote time to it to do well. Time management is key. The professors are so,so helpful.

Does your group talk outside of classes? As in, do y’all have a group text or Facebook group or anything like that? Thanks! I start in January!

There are a few of us who talk outside of classes and help each other. I think everyone has done that- breaking off and kind of finding their people. And then I'm on the Bands app where some of us have a sort of chatroom to bounce ideas off of each other if we want to or give out some helpful hints. Good luck! I think you'll find all of the instructors super helpful! I feel like I've learned a great deal as well.

Hello, I just got accepted for the DNP-Acute Care track for this fall 2022. Wondering what’s your experience so far. Are you able to work full time and school? How’s the workload? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks I’m advance.

@MHosp

HI! I just got accepted for Fall 2022 also. Has anyone started a cohort page? If not- are you interested in starting one?
