Baylor BSN 2014 Spring Applicants

Published

I was just wondering if there is anyone else applying for the 2014 spring program. It's my first time applying to a nursing school so I'm excited! My HESI is overall average 86% (not that great) and overall gpa 3.7, also I'd be considered a transfer student. Hope to hear from ya'll!

I'll be moving to Dallas from Austin and I would also be willing to get a 2 bedroom with someone. I was thinking of trying to live on my own but I think it will be much more cost effective to have at least one roommate.

I'm so excited to meet everyone at Pre-nursing day!

Yeah same here! At first I was wanting to be on my own but if it's easier/cheaper to have a roommate along with a second bed/bath then I don't mind! Pre-Nursing day is coming up Sept. 28th so I think that would be a good time to start looking at apts in person maybe? Im planning on going sometime soon to ask questions and stuff, later a group of us can go check them out together maybe?

Congrats yall! Baylor is a great school. I'm currently at that school so if you have any questions i'll try my best to answer!! Be sure to follow up on your blue card!!!

Thank you swtlove! It's nice to know someone in the program. What do you think of it so far? Classes? and about how long did it take for you to get your blue card? Anything else we should know?? :)

How is your first semester schedule like? How many hours are you taking? Are you working or know people that work during the program? Thank you for taking your time to answer our questions :)

Well for me I'm in the Fastbacc program vs. the traditional program. It is slightly different but, the teachers there are all really nice and super helpful. I'm only working once a week and that's enough. You have so much to do that I highly doubt you would want to work on the side. The blue card takes awhile to come in for me it took about 2 weeks and one got lost in the mail so be sure to follow up on it. I can't stress that to everyone enough. I got my the day right before orientation so do whatever you can to it asap. If ya'll have any other questions don't hesitate to ask i'll try my best to answer!!

How about scholarship opportunities? Did Baylor grant you money for tuition or how does that work?

Thank you so much for the important info Good luck to you :)

FYI everyone, I got my blue card in the mail today! Keep an eye out for it! :)

They do have scholarship opportunities but it is very limited. You should definitely e-mail Tina about it for more information. I didn't qualify for it so I don't have much information on that. What you have to do money wise is...apply for FAFSA as soon as possible. Everything that deals with money usually takes a life time. Once it goes through processing, you would have to accept how every much of your award financial aid and that money will be deducted from your account. I thinking most of you might have a balance even after financial aid so if that's the case you either pay out of pocket or apply for private loans. The application process takes awhile. The lowest % interest rate is texas cal if you're a texas resident and they have been pretty good in getting things in quickly! I hope that helps answer your question!

Yes thank you for answering! I'm one of those students depending on financial aid, scholarships, and loans otherwise there'd be no way. But I'm determined to go through Baylor's program. I'll definitely email her about it. Thanks again.

Hey gals! I'm super excited to get more information about ordering our scrubs and all the wonderful forms we have to fill out. How many uniforms are yall planning on ordering?
