Baylor BSN 2014 Spring Applicants

I was just wondering if there is anyone else applying for the 2014 spring program. It's my first time applying to a nursing school so I'm excited! My HESI is overall average 86% (not that great) and overall gpa 3.7, also I'd be considered a transfer student. Hope to hear from ya'll!

I was wondering the same thing! I want to order a lot because I hate doing laundry all the time, but then I don't want to spend too much money! Haha Do you know if we are allowed to wear scrubs during lecture classes? It seemed like the dress code only said we could wear business attire with lab coats? This is so exciting but a little confusing :)

Hey sorry it took me forever to reply! I am from the Dallas area I currently live in Denton, and I grew up in Flower Mound. I thought about living closure to the school, but I just love the area of Addison and Uptown, but I know it'll take a lot of looking to find something I can afford unless I live with someone else as well. And I totally agree with you. I do not want to end up having to share a bathroom! Haha hopefully we will all get to meet at prenursing day, and get an idea of living situations and stuff. (:

Also, yes, I don't want to worry about doing laundry all the time, yet don't want to spend too much money on scrubs. It seems to make sense to get as many pair of scrubs as we get patches (did they say we get 3? and then additional patches for an extra charge?). But of course, one of those patches has to go on our lab coat. It would be helpful to know what our schedule will be like, as far as when and how many days we need to wear scrubs.

Yes, we get three patches to begin with and then we order the extras. And since we will already have to use one for a lab coat, then we'd only have two pairs of scrubs which I doubt would be enough. But ya, it would be very helpful if we knew what our schedules would be like. Do you know if we can wear scrubs at all during lecture hours or are we only allowed to wear them during clinicals?

Hey everyone! Its all good haleysexton :)

If it helps any everytime I see the Baylor nursing students in and around the campus they almost always have their scrubs on or business casual with the lab coat. I'm probably going to get 2 sets of scrubs but its only because one of the nurses is willing to give me hers (she graduated already). It is an exciting step though! I wonder if we will all get to meet each other after all since they're splitting the nursing group?

I took a tour of the school earlier this year (I take classes at dcccd) and all the students were wearing their scrubs? I guess it depends on certain days maybe?

I am so excited for Pre-Nursing Day! My last name is Garcia, so I am with the first wave. I am a little sad because there was an issue with my background check! I hope it can all get sorted by the time the semester starts, I just wanted a blue card!

I was at the campus today and almost everyone I saw there was wearing scrubs. With the exception of a few but they said they were going to interviews. I guess we will find out what we wear on Saturday!

Also, has anyone received anything from Baylor about admission? My goBaylor acct still says, "Your application file is complete and we are in the process of reviewing it. You will receive an admission decision soon."

Ill try to ask about that ! It would be helpful to know how many sets of scrubs to order.

I hope everything works out with your blue card! I still have not received anything from admissions yet either, but I called Friday and was told that they are sending acceptances out very soon and the nursing students are first on the list!

Hi there everyone! I just discovered this site and am late in jumping on the bandwagon but I am a transfer that's starting this Spring....so excited as I'm sure all of you are! I am from Southern CA and am now living in Houston, finishing up my last 2 classes in waco. Is anyone going to the preview day this coming Saturday? Im in the later group. I don't know anybody and was wondering if anyone else was in the same boat? Congratulations to everyone making it! :)
