So I had a VERY NEGATIVE initial contact with this college. Through just ONE conversation it's apparent that this school is a for-profit. After calling the school I was transferred to their Atlanta campus...The guy answered the phone "are you coming to a information session" which COMPLETELY through me off....no hello, thank you for calling Atlanta...blah blah etc.. it was INFO session info session. He continued to cut me off, avoid all questions. and even got SNAPPY with me. Their customer service is absolutely a turn off and I don't believe this school will be a top choice for me. smh some people do not need to be in customer service... I could NOT believe this guy. Take a PTO day if you don't want to work.
hopefullnurse2011, I would weigh your options evenly depending on what you want to do in the future. A BSN has its advantages and a ADN has its a well. As far as the time is concerned realistically it comes out closer than you think completing the ADN program at Bauder and a Bridge program will take you about 30 months (15 month ADN & 12 month Bridge) and the BSN program at Herzing is 32 months.Bauder is going well and I just finished the first quarter.
I hope I did that correctly (the quote, remember I'm new here)..... Shamekaj, You are in the Bauder nursing program as well? If so we must be in there together or are u in the upcoming program???????? Either way, I look forward to seeing you August 24th, I love this website, we get the opportunity to support one another as well as keep each other informed. Also if you are in the program that started in June, how did the first quarter end for you? Has there been any changes or updates? I only had to take college success this first quarter because I had a lot of classes to transfer in. Please let me know how things have been going? :)
hey ransoms, yes i am in the nursing program at bauder and started in june. i only took college success & micro this term and it went good. the biggest adjustment for me is working and going into school weekly but, i'm pretty much adjusted now. i picked up my schedule for next term last week and will only be taking pharmacology. how are things going for you?

shemekaj thanks for responding, i only had to take college success the first quarter (i sat on the front row) which ended july 11th (so i have been idle since then, eagerly waiting to start back up). next quarter i will have pharmacology (so i guess i will see you there) and anat2 only. yes managing our work schedule can be a challange, luckily for me the medical cnter where i work have adjusted my hours to accomodate my school schedule (shift change, with the opportunity of ot if/when i leave school early since i have no classes after 12pm). things couldn't be any better for me at this time. since i have been out though i have "heard" so many different things about the program at bauder..... sorta puzzling. anyhow i look forward to working with you!
I think I remember you, Do you wear glasses? I usually sat towards the back/middle. I agree that the program is changing and obviously expanding a lot just from the posts I see on allnurses. I was up there a couple of weeks ago and they were doing testing for the KTP. It will be interesting to see how they juggle multiple RN classes but, I hope it doesn't impact us too much.
Where do you work? What do you do? I hoped to get a job in healthcare before starting classes but nothing has come through. Any advice.
Lol, I wear my glasses sometimes, if we are facing the instructor I sat at the first table on the right in the first chair. Currently I work at the medical cntr on the westend, I have been there the last 4yrs as a certified medical assistant but I have a total of almost 6yrs experience. As far as suggestions to enter the field...... Volunteer, Volunteer, Volunteer if at all possible just to get your foot in the door. I just left the school today making sure everything is in order for next week. So excited! Also I saw people interviewing today for the adn pgm in November!

That was one thing I was concerned about is workiing. I just left my full-time job to go back to a part-time flexible job (actually pays more than my fullitime did) hopefully I can keep it if I get into the program.
