So I had a VERY NEGATIVE initial contact with this college. Through just ONE conversation it's apparent that this school is a for-profit. After calling the school I was transferred to their Atlanta campus...The guy answered the phone "are you coming to a information session" which COMPLETELY through me off....no hello, thank you for calling Atlanta...blah blah etc.. it was INFO session info session. He continued to cut me off, avoid all questions. and even got SNAPPY with me. Their customer service is absolutely a turn off and I don't believe this school will be a top choice for me. smh some people do not need to be in customer service... I could NOT believe this guy. Take a PTO day if you don't want to work.
hopefullnurse2011, I would weigh your options evenly depending on what you want to do in the future. A BSN has its advantages and a ADN has its a well. As far as the time is concerned realistically it comes out closer than you think completing the ADN program at Bauder and a Bridge program will take you about 30 months (15 month ADN & 12 month Bridge) and the BSN program at Herzing is 32 months.
Bauder is going well and I just finished the first quarter.
i understand in the long run it would be the same amount of time but the diff would be i can start workign as a RN after those 15mons vs waiting the whole 36 months. I'm a older student so i need quick as possible.
How did the first quarter go? what classes did you finish? was your timetotally consumed?
No prob....glad I could help. I'm only considering BSN because my ultimate goal is to be a NP. PLUS, alot of my friends that just graduated from ADN programs, as well as the nurses that I work with keep telling me that ALOT of the hospitals around Atlanta are hiring new grads with a BSN quicker than the ones with an associates. I'm just trying to avoid at ALL COSTS any type of bump in the road in me beginning my career . I've waited wayyyyyy too long and worked too hard for someone to not hire me because of years difference in my education ya know? That would suck
This is my third or fourth online class and second online science class. I really enjoyed it and prefer them since I am working full-time. I think just like in the classroom it all depends on the teachers and how the information is presented/communicated and is up to the student to do the work and ask lots of questions.
Ummm, Right now I have a flexible schedule and don't think I will stop working but might have a schedule change or job change where I can work evenings/nights sometimes. For the most part, I think the most classes that I have a term is 2 or 3. I'm just taking it one month at a time but of course making plans now if I need to make adjustments.
