Bassett Medical Center Interview

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey all, I am a new grad BSN May 2012. Finally have an interview coming up in 2 weeks at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown (upstate). I have a friend that works there already and loves it up there. Anybody else been hired there? Ow was the process? And the interview with the nurse managers? Any advice?

Thanks, Rasha and nursekoli!

My interview is coming up and I'm so nervous!

Hi neemo, I am having the phone interview this wed,

how did your interview go? did you have the phone interview first?

Did you get an offer?

Hi, nyRN1989. The phone interview came first. I prepared going by the questions that others have already listed on the Bassett threads. I thought that it went okay. I gave them 2-3 weeks before following up personally after the phone interview. I was not offered a position after the phone interview nor was I offered a second in-person interview after it. However, I did eventually get the second interviews for two floors, which went well.

I will be starting my position in January.

Good luck!

So finally the call came for finalizing a position in medical inpatient unit from ********* after putting me in the waiting list for 2 months. Don't loose hope. U might get an offer. :)

Hi all. Thanks for the helpful comments. I have an interview soon and would like to do some early preparations. Can you provide me some feedbacks on housing/accommodations in cooperstown? Are there housing for rent within walking distance (

Hello everybody,

I have read this thread a hundred times already but I am still nervous about my face-to-face interview and I am nervous. I was wondering if there was anything else I might expect except what was said in the thread earlier?

Also, if I will get a job, how long before you actually go to the floor/?

Thank you in advance :)

I had my interview last week on two different floors. It went exactly as what has been described earlier in this thread. The managers and the nurses on the floor were very nice. Within 48 hours I already had a job offer :D. The nursing orientation is 4 days long, so I'm not sure exactly when I'll be on the floor.

Good luck!

thank you for your reply. what are they looking for in new grad nurses?

They are looking for people who want to learn, aren't afraid to ask questions, and most importantly dependability.

I had an in person interview yesterday. I think it wend good. It has been 48 hours since and I am nervous. I really would love to work in that hospital. How long should i wait before a follow up?

Even though I didn't have to reach out, they told me I could call HR after a week for an update.

Thank you Calypsa. Earlier I wrote 48 hours, I actually meant to say 24hours. How fast did they replied to you?
