Barry university

Hello eveyone is there anyone that attends Barry Universities Basic option nursing school in the fall. Can you please tell me how its like, the teachers, the experiences.

rivir25,

I'm relieved..I just got my letter today..so I finally have documented confirmation that I'm in for Fall 2010. It said i was accepted, under the condition that I would take the HESI exam (A-2 CT-V-1), and pass it with at least 75% in each section..as well as complete the pre-reqs I have left.

SI is Supplemental Insrtuctions, its basically there to help with patho. Most other schools dont have that or med calc. And also start reading up on medication calculations. Every school has a test which you will have to pass a 10 question test with a 90%, that means only one wrong. Just thought everyone should know.

My friend was accepted for the acc 2009, she said the first semester was easy, but the summer is kicking her butt.

Just wanted to say Hi to you guys since I too am going to be going to Barry. I was accepted into the acc. starting Jan 2009, and while very nervous I am excited to start. Starting in the Fall I will be taking the Bio-Medical ethics, Religion and the upper division Humanities class that they require now.

Good luck to you guys. :D

This test is taken after your first semester with med math..not before right? And do you know if you can retake it?

Hey monica ill probably will be seeing you because im taking all these classes also in the fall, but i start the nursing program in the fall.

Its taken after the med calc class and you can retake it twice. If you have spare time order a book on med calc for nurses and start studying.

Good to hear we have more than one shot. Is there any particular med math book you recommend? I've begun brushing up on my problem solving skills as well...I think it will help.

I have been using this book called math and meds:dosages and solutions by anna m. curren. when nursing school starts always use nclex practice books to study for all the subjects, it will help plenty.

Is this text also required for the med math class @ Barry?..or did you have to buy another one?

No, this was my sisters book from her nursing program. Its been helping me alot.

Oh wow, it's great that you have your sister as guidance into the program. I would like to thank you too for all the helpful information as well. :)

Keep me updated, if you can, on how the program goes for you...I would love some insider's perspective.
