Im going to be starting in august of 2009, so basically next month. There are so many classes that have to be done and requirements such as CPR and physicals, etc. Just let me know if you have any questions about anything.

Also, I made an appt with the nursing advisor for August..but I would like to know ahead of time which classes/requirements you speak of?

First off, what school are you transfering from? Im transfering from FAU.

These are what the requirements were for me

bio medical ehtics- you will have to finish this at barry because no one else has it.

psycology

enc 1101, enc 1102

speech

intro to computers

statistics

anatomy 1&2

microbiology

chemistry

nutrition

any theology class

and 1 or 2 electives

They made me take chemistry over because it did not match theirs, so you have to make sure all your classes match. I probably can tell you because i have the list of the different schools like fau, fiu, BC, and MDC.

I am transfering from FIU. I have already completed all the classes except religion and computers (both in progress), bio-medical ethics and speech..oh and I'm clepping spanish so that my humanities ar covered. Similiar to your situation with the chemistry class..I must retake physiology, b/c they do not accept the physiology i took..therefore i must take it at Barry. So by finishing off religions and computer this summer...for fall I will only have Physiology,clep spanish, and do speech.

Have you taken bio-medical ethics yet..or will you be taking it this fall with your nursing courses?

No i have not taken Bio yet, i will be taking it in the fall. Thats good, you did your homework, you completed almost everything. I have to complete bio and religion at barry and i really dont want to, these two classes will take up my time. You do know how much you will have to pay, right? Im paying 13900 something dollars for ine semester, but that includes grants, the barry scholarship, and alot of loans.

Yeah, I'm planning on taking speech, and hopefully biomedical ethics before I start the nursing program..like you said, it takes up time, and I want to be fully concentrated on school.

So besides these courses, getting a physical and my CPR certification..is there anything else they ask of you?

So far i dont think theres anywhere else that offers Bio other than Barry. They also ask for health insurance, if you have your own you can use that, if not you can also purchase it from the school.

Yeah, I'm just planing to take the bio-medical ethics at Barry, before the program starts. Did you receive any financial assistance/scholarships from Barry?

Did you get an acceptance letter in the mail or did you call?

did you have all your pre req's done?

I applied for the same and cant wait for an answer!!
