Hi everyone! Just wanted to start a thread for those applying to the CRNA program at Barry University starting January 2016! Comments, Questions, Concerns, Advice...
Also, is anyone in Miami interested in starting a GRE study group?
Congrats! I remember I interviewed on a Monday and found out by that Friday. And just so you all know, at the interview they have you rank your top 3 campuses. Most people get their top site (especially if you interview this early) but you don't get an official placement until November. But if you want west palm, you'll get it because not a lot of people already live here compared to the larger sites like Orlando and Tampa.
TicuRN12, how long did it take for you to get your official scores after taking the GRE? I just took my GRE last Wednesday and I'm happy with my scores but I think I might be able to improve on them since I didn't manage my time very well on one of the math sections. I know that I have to wait 21 days before retesting. I want to make sure that if I do retest, that I receive my official scoring report before the application deadline.
I'm gonna help you out RichRN, at least partly because I feel sorry for a stormtrooper who has to take a dump.
If Barry is your first due date, youre golden. After your test, it takes ETS 10-15 days (calendar not business) to grade your essays and make it all official. However, then ETS takes time to get those scores to your school (It's a Trap!). Some schools receive their scores electronically, some by CD, and yet others by snail mail. So given the speed of snail mail and potential usps holidays/weekends, it could take anywhere from 10 to 22 days for the school to receive. This is the helpful part for you though, my young toilet trooper. You can ask ETS on their contact form which method of score reporting your school uses. This can give you another several days if they report electronically.
Another thing you need to finger out is which scores you wanna report.
Hey RNKay,
Don't be bummed. I would go ahead and submit your application and if the schools that you are applying with have a problem with your GRE score I would let them tell you that it is not high enough. The test sounds brutal and I could not imagine trying to sit through the test again in another 21 days. I hope that it all works out for you. Good luck in your application process. I am planning to take the GRE next month and I am taking my time studying. I don't want to take this bear of a test twice. I already have to retake the CCRN again due to making an 84 so I am not happy about that. Let me know how everything works out and I will do the same. I am sending happy thoughts your way!!
Thanks RNKay,
I have been targeting my weak areas and really trying to hit them hard for the next go round. I am praying that the GRE will be a successful run for me. Lord knows these tests are expensive. I am going to start finishing up my Barry application soon and applying to other schools as well. Keep me posted on everything. Have you decided to apply to FIU or some other schools for this round of applications? Best of luck to you! Thank you for the encouragement.
