Hello Estrella Fellows -

I am so excited about orientation tomorrow:yeah: Just checked my email and noticed we are finally enrolled in classes! Just wondering if anyone else found it odd that according to the schedule we go to school for an hour on Fridays. I am hoping that is not accurate. I guess we will find out for sure tomorrow!!!!

I know I am getting so excited to finally be starting but scared LOL. I didn't notice that we have class on fridays I thought we had that day off which would be nice for studying. I am glad that we are finally enrolled I kept checking and nothing was changing then I got the email yesterday :). I will see you tomorrow bright and early ready for a load of information. ----Kelli

I am pretty sure that the class showing on Friday is actually on Thurs. I think that Wed and Thurs are the same. At least I am hoping that to be true. See you all tomorrow.

OCD Mom,

Thank you so much for your advice! I will definitely spend more time studying the NET test book! I actually had my boyfriend help me a lot with the math. So, he can help me again. And, you are right about half the battle through it is not knowing what to expect and now I know so that should help calm my nerves somewhat! Unfortunately, 202 is the last class I need. And, there is not enough time for another class unless I wait until after the spring to apply and at that point I would be re-taking classes. Which I don't know if that would help or not because I actually got B's in most of the core classes. Is that what you mean, maybe I should wait and take some other classes to boost my GPA? That's so exciting you are in the program and loving it!!!! I can imagine how awesome it is! Thank you for showing me that I still can do it and to be positive! You really have helped me look up a little!

OCD_MOM

Well we had are orientation today at EMCC and I am exhausted LOL. That is a lot of information to get just to get started. I did my drug test and just need to get the rest of my books because they only had 2 of them and the tote. We got into our groups and hopefully will find out our clinical sites Monday (i am hoping for Banner Estrella). Have they told you your clinical site? How are things going for you? They said we better like to read (I Don't LOL) because there is going to be a lot of it. What was your first lecture assignment?Are you liking it so far?---Kelli

I am still liking it. I got my clinical assignment today....Banner Good Sam!! It is a long drive from my house but I think the experiences there will be AWESOME! Our group of 10 are very cohesive group and we all seem excited to work together. We had our first Quiz today, I did not do very good but the instructor was so reassuring and told me that she will really focus on technique in preclinical. I will do better I know it, it is just getting over that nervous hump. I have studied hard and really know my stuff it is just thinking things through and taking my time until I am used to it all. Good luck folks maybe we will see each other in the halls.

The reading assignments are in the syllabus which is posted in blackboard. I read chapters 1 and 4. They are really boring. This book reads like a dictionary. Going to get my drug test today and maybe my Banner Badge. See you Monday bright and early.

Hey guys,

I have finished chapters 1 and 4, and will probably start 5 tonight. Chapter1 was a slow read and chapter 4 was common sense. Looks like we have a writing assignment in due in 2 weeks.

Chapter 5 & 25 are short chapters. Its going to be crazy when we get our other textbooks and have to read multiple chapters from multiple books. lol. Well it has officially started. yay.

Best wishes to all incoming BF students at EMCC!! Hopefully your cohort will be better organized than the previous ones. Be prepared to be very flexible and frustrated at times. If you have any issues that aren't being addressed, please let ********* know!!! She is very interested in how things are going. It goes by so fast! Take care.

Do you think we have to print out the module power point slides?

I don't know if we have to print them out. I went ahead and printed them and put them in a three ring binder so I can write notes on the slides while the instructor lectures. I guess we will find out tomorrow for sure. I stayed up until midnight last night studying, not the best idea when I had to be at work at 6am today. I am just so excited to get started.
