Banner Nurse Fellows Program

I interviewed for the nurse fellows program through Banner about three weeks ago and still haven't heard anything! I was talking to another girl there for an interview who said that her friend (I know, I know, don't listen to anything like this, but I can't help it!) got a call a week after her interview offering her a slot. Has anyone else interviewed and heard anything?

I don't know why I'm so freaking out about it. I'm already accepted into Mesa to start in January (I deferred) but I WANT TO GET INTO THIS!

That is what I thought I heard about the start dates. That would mean if I get in, I would start in a week. Geez! Everything is happening so fast!

I am so nervous about my interview. I hope and pray that I don't freeze.

Hey gang,

So this thread has been around for 2+ years, holy cow!! Well, after applying 3x's, I actually have an interview tomorrow. YAY!!! However, after I applied this last time, I completely forgot about the program. Does anyone know where the March cohort is being held, what schools?? I've read through the interview advice, but was wondering if anyone has been interviewed recently and could tell me about their experieince? Do they still hand you the questions ahead of time? Thanks!

Congratulations! Some questions for you...

- Isn't the deadline on Oct. 18th for BNFP applications?

- What sort of stuff did you include in your essays?

I am wrapping up my essays as we speak and will be faxing in my application tomorrow for the March cohort as well.

Any help with the essays would be great!

Hi MassagetoRN when did you apply to BNFP? I applied on 9/18/08 and have yet to hear anything. My mom just graduated from BNFP @ CGCC and she said that the questions were given at the time of the interview. She had no idea what the questions were ahead of time. Congrats on your interview. My mom hated the BFNP at Chandler Gilbert CC. Almost 50% of the students didn't pass block 2 and 3. She graduated in June and I think there was 17 of them that graduated. Banner pulled the program from CGCC because they had so many problems with the instructors. It wasn't a problem with the program.....it was a problem with the instructors there. Some of her friends just started block 3 at Gateway in the Banner program and they have great things to say about it. They said it's a pleasant learning environment in comparison to Chandler Gilbert CC Banner Program. Anyway, the program is pulled at CGCC.....so no worries.

can you apply for the Banner program while you are taking the last prereq class? I want to start the program for spring 2010 but I will have to take my last bio 205 class in the fall 2009. I know that's when I am supose to apply for the program.

To be honest,

I don't remember when I applied this time around. Probably back in aug/sept sometime. Since it was my 3rd time applying, I just blew it off.

You must have all your prerequisites for the Banner program completed by the time you apply. I am in the same boat right now. Take my last prerequisites this semester, but I cannot apply until the semester is over for the April 2009 cutoff.

I interviewed this week for th BNFP, and totally froze up, got nervous. I am so afraid that I blew it. I think they let you know in like 1 month. Has anyone else interviewed lately???

I interviewed yesterday. The panel is super nice, and they understand that you are nervous. You can't back and change it, so no need worry about.

Hey! I just interviewed last week for the final few positions left in this October choort at Mesa CC. I got in and I am starting on Monday. I did alot of deep breathing/relaxation before my interview and they actually wondered if I was nervous b/c I was so in the zone. I also did practice pretend interviewing with my boyfriend so I knew exactly what kind of things I wanted to talk about. What kinds of questions do you have? If I can help anyone, I'd love to!
