Banner Nurse Fellows Program

Published

I interviewed for the nurse fellows program through Banner about three weeks ago and still haven't heard anything! I was talking to another girl there for an interview who said that her friend (I know, I know, don't listen to anything like this, but I can't help it!) got a call a week after her interview offering her a slot. Has anyone else interviewed and heard anything?

I don't know why I'm so freaking out about it. I'm already accepted into Mesa to start in January (I deferred) but I WANT TO GET INTO THIS!

Does anyone know what scrubs we will be wearing for the Banner program? Is it the same as the MCCD Nursing program (the teal one w/MCCD logo)?

yes, the same ones; make sure you try them on before you buy 'em, they run small

Thanks, much!!

:bluecry1:Just got my second rejection letter. Any advice? I don't know what I am doing wrong. Please help.:bluecry1:

Boogsdad, I am sorry to hear that you weren't accepted. I am wondering about my interview. I could have/should have done so better, but I allowed my nerves to get the best of me.

How did you dress? What were your responses to the questions? Did you make eye contact with everyone on the panel? PM me and lets 'talk' about it.

I am NOT an expert by any means, but I have conducted many interviews, so maybe between the two of us we can figure some thing to help us out!! If I didn't get accepted, I plan on reapplying!!

Don't be discouraged, you can try again. To your benefit is the experiences of the interviews.

RE UNIFORMS

Even though they may be the same size. Different styles of the pants will fit differently.

Make sure you try before you buy.

Hi, does anyone know when the BHNP October Cohort at Gateway CC actually starts? I know that orientation is October 27, but when is the first day of classes?

Specializes in Med Surg/ Tele/ CVICU/ ICU.

Does anyone know what they want in an applicant? Not the actual requirements, but what they personally want? Does GPA play a big role in the selection process?:nurse:

Hi all! And congrats on those who were accepted to the Oct cohort! I have not applied yet, still taking Bio 202, but I had some questions, that if someone has some time, I would appreciate some info.

For those who are Banner employees that have been accepted into the program, are you still going to work while in the program? If so, how flexible are your dept heads being with scheduling work shifts around your work schedule?

The reason I am asking, is that while I would love to apply to the Banner program, I am in a position where I am going to HAVE to work full-time to support myself through nursing school. Yes, I know it will be hard and difficult, but it is what it is. Anyway, I currently work for my dad, and he has been very encouraging and supportive of my decision to go to nursing school. He is even encouraging me to apply to the Banner program and he will work around that schedule as far as work goes. I am lucky in this regard. However, I have been wanting to either get my CNA cert or HUC cert and get a job in one of the hospitals for experience as I don't have a previous healthcare background. My current job will afford me the flexibilty for sure to do the BNFP, but I am wondering if I got a job at Banner, if they would be as flexible.

Hopefully, someone out there can give me some insight.

Thanks!

I've heard the interview is the key, not so much gpa. Is this true? Should I not stress about getting a C in chemistry but focus on being Ms. Personality and not nervous in the interview? Any insight will be helpful. Thank you.

Is anyone enrolled in the October cohort at Mesa CC? The one for people with previous Bachelors degrees? I am interviewing for it next week and I was wondering if anyone knew more specifics about the program itself. Also, when does it start in October?

Thanks so much!!!

:D

I am in the October Mesa CC Cohort, and we have orientation on the 14th. I believe that we start classes on the 20th. I am waiting to find everything out at the orientation, as they have not given us much information thus far. Good luck with your interview!
