I interviewed for the nurse fellows program through Banner about three weeks ago and still haven't heard anything! I was talking to another girl there for an interview who said that her friend (I know, I know, don't listen to anything like this, but I can't help it!) got a call a week after her interview offering her a slot. Has anyone else interviewed and heard anything?
I don't know why I'm so freaking out about it. I'm already accepted into Mesa to start in January (I deferred) but I WANT TO GET INTO THIS!

Hey! I put down on my app that I wanted the March cohort at GWCC. Also, on the top of my app I put that I have a bachelors degree. I got a call for an interview and she told me she wanted to interview me for the October cohort at MCC for people who have previous degrees. This is the first time that they had a cohort just for people with previous bachelors degrees. If you have a previous degree, make sure to put it on the top of your application! :)
Hi Everyone!
I am REALLY wanting to get into the Banner Nurse Fellows Program that begins in March 2009. I already submitted my application for the October 17, 2008 deadline, BUT i still have not received a phone call or anything. Does anyone know if they have already made their choices for this cohort?
Hey! I just interviewed last week for the final few positions left in this October choort at Mesa CC. I got in and I am starting on Monday. I did alot of deep breathing/relaxation before my interview and they actually wondered if I was nervous b/c I was so in the zone. I also did practice pretend interviewing with my boyfriend so I knew exactly what kind of things I wanted to talk about. What kinds of questions do you have? If I can help anyone, I'd love to!
What kind of questions did they ask you in the interview?! That's amazing that you weren't nervous! Knowing me, I'll probably stumble over my words and start rambling from nervousness. Also, do you know what kind of things they look for in the essay portion?! I was originally going to write half a page for each answer and repeat myself on how much I really want it, but then I remembered the lady from the seminar saying how she'll be going through so many essays and to make it straight to the point... which is exactly what I did. Please let me know anything else you may think will be helpful for me and anyone else in my position. Thank you!
I interviewed this week for th BNFP, and totally froze up, got nervous. I am so afraid that I blew it. I think they let you know in like 1 month. Has anyone else interviewed lately???
I thought I bombed the interview too... but I'm now a block four student in the BNF program at GWCC. I used to do competitive interviewing in high school (yes, I was a nerd) and this interview was by far my worst. I thought it went so bad that I had started packing boxes to move back home. When the acceptance letter came, I was shocked. SO my point is, don't count yourself out of it yet.
For the interview, I was asked questions mostly about the mission and values of Banner. I also made sure to tell them that I am financially able to make it through and the I am able to devote all my time to the program. I just made sure I reviewed in my head everything I wrote in the essay questions. I think the key to all of it is to show alot of sincerity and passion for wanting to be a nurse. The essays I just kept it really short. I said as much as I could in a little amount of space. I didn't even fill up the entire space of each essay question. I wrote about my background in the medical field and applied it to my education. Just be calm and be positive. If I can do it, anyone can!!!

:angryfire Wow... passed over again. That is awesome. I have applied three times and cannot get an interview. I even emailed them to see if I would be able to speak with someone about what I am doing wrong. I have a bachelor's, I am taking BSN prerequisites, I have a plan for childcare and finances, I am ready to go. I worked and worked to get my essays done, and I cannot believe I can even get an interview. Do they think I smell? I'm ugly? Dumb? What am I doing wrong??? I think I deserve a chance like everyone else. My GPA is not awesome, but I passed the classes I need to get into the MCCCD programs like they wanted, I did very well on the NET test... GEEZ!
AT LEAST THREE APPLICATIONS NOW... AND NOTHING. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!! (yes, I am pretty mad about this
). I just want to do it more now.
I tried to make this funny too... I am not all that mad about it. I know I will get in somewhere somehow. I have an Oct 22nd, 2007 datestamp, with a timestamp of 08:03:02AM. I am pretty sure I will make the cut for Fall of 2009. But I really like Banner. Their students seem like they have it together.
Can anyone help me?
i have a question, i applied to the bnfp and the bottom of my application it says, banner app sent nlt: 11/12/08 (do not call the district office. applications are processed by banner and we have nothing to do with that process--there is nothing you can do but wait for a letter from banner. email inquiries.)
what does nlt: 11/12/08 mean? i have not heard anything from them at all. i too am a bachelor student ( finishing my masters) and i am kind of disapointed that i have not recieved a call from them to at least interview.
thanks in advance!
